I hate lorries holding up the outside lane just to slowly overtake one other lorry and go slow again. Why not stay behind the other lorry and stop jamming up the outside lane?

I don't know about the outside lane but I know they overtake all do to with otherwise drops in revs. When they find a lorry going slower it takes them so long to speed up to ovetake it's better for them to overtake in the middle lane.

People overtaking me at speed on a dual carriageway as we're already almost on an exit (which I'm passing), then cut straight across just inches in front to take that exit late and completely unexpectedly. Happened to me several times, and when you're doing 65-70 yourself it's hair-raising... even more terrifying a split-second later as you realise what the consequences could have been.

The Germans actually ban trucks from overtaking on certain (if not all) dual-carriageway stretches of Autobahn. :T

  • Up here in the far North folk continually drive with their front fog lights on, drives me mad! And the amount of drivers with headlights out is increasing up here to, however have you ever tried changing a bulb in a new car?!!!? Fiesta, remove grill, drop front bumper, unscrew the whole headlight unit and replace bulb from the rear, £52:00 for ford to do it!! Rip-off

never tried yet but surely if 1 needs replacing then it should be done whether you do it yourself or whether you get a dealer/garage to do it, theres just no excuse to get it done

also what is the point in speeding up so fast to tail gate a driver who is overtaking another vehicle in the middle lane, its always bmw, merc, vw, audi drivers who do this

My wife rang me the other day to say she had noticed a headlight bulb had gone on way home. I told her to be careful on way home and I would fit new one when she returned. I got handbook out to double check what to do as hadn't had to change a bulb on this car, Renault Modus, and it said it could only be done by a Renault dealer. I though it must be wrong so looked on the web and you had to take off the whole of the bumper and most of the front end down to the engine. £72 to change a bulb, utter madness especially for a French car where you have to carry spare bulbs by law which is all well and good but you couldn't change it at the side of the road.

Totally agree DCFC79, if it needs done then get it done, however in European law it states that all car bulbs must be easily changeable, and as stated by myself and storck this is not the case. If front lights were designed like rear lights, for easy access, then roads would be a safer place. My other half drives a Peugeot and although a pain you can change them relatively easily (or take it to Halfords who charge a reasonable amount :)) Halfords wouldnt even look at my Fiesta "way too difficult and time consuming, best take it to a Ford dealer"

Where I live Vauxhall did it for the price of the bulb which was about £8, I never took my car to dealerships for services but because they didn't charge for something simple like that I will be taking it there next time it is required

  • Hi

I just had to add mine to this, inconsiderate driving is one of my all time pet hates and quite possibly the cause of any future raised blood pressure

peopl who hesitate uneccessarily at traffic lights and junctions, especially if you are the first person at the traffic light - what did you think you were supposed to do when it went green.... not finish your coffee, or check your face in the mirror and if it is just that you are sslow in reacting then dear god dont drive around me phewww sorry issues there

I always think it comes across as arrogance, if you arent looking in your mirrors and seeeing your effect on other road users then you are unsafe anyway (point made here slow drivers are NOT automatically safe drivers) and if you can see the effect on others - i.e. you know you are slowing the traffic, then how arrogant and iinconsiderate are you?

I work with counsellors and we discuss back story, has it occurred to you people that drive unreasonably slowly in a one person mission to slow all us supposedlyy reprebate drivers down, that behind you may be someone trying to get to hospital to see someone they have just been told is ill, or someone who has had something horrible happen and they want to get home, or in my case trying to get to a vulnerable client? Im not suggestung we be allowed to drive so fast its unsafe, but I always ask the question why is your journey more important than everyone elses?

oooops sorry - apparently inconsiderate driving is one of my issues

oooh and not aiming my rant at anyone just in general

but wht do people do this, i saw a middle aged guy do this on monday and he tail gated me as i was overtaking another vehicle as you do and he sped past to then only cross the 2 lanes to go off at the exit that was coming up, why not just drive at a sensible speed
