Again I find when browsing the Internet Movie site my IE stops working.
Other sites, in the past, seem to have a few problems so am I better to ditch the IE and go with Firefox now. Any downsides to this move?

I was a fan of firefox but now I use Chrome and it flies.
Downsides..... microsoft sites don't like it lol, odd sites won't play, but it's rare now.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin is a far safer way to browse than using IE or CHROME etc
Firefox by itself is sound so long as your a 'safe' user:idea:0 -
I think FF is far more stable than IE and It would be a good move on your part.0

Give more than one a try and see what you prefer:

if you do decide to use firefox then there's an addon that allows sites that doesn't work with ff to be viewed with ie0

why not have all 3? i use ie, ff and chrome.
FF allows me to use lots of useful plugins
I use IE if a site cannot be accessed by FF or Chrome
Chrome is useful for fast loading but i find it uses more memory
If your IE is not working, it may be that you are using IE6 and need to upgrade

Who do you have to ditch anything??
Just put them all on and decide which you like best for whatever it is you are doing??0 -
another consideration........if you use IE8, then back-track a version to IE7. I find it more stable and doesn't suffer the compatability issues that v8 does......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I'm useing Firefox 3.6 Beta 4 at the moment, apart from most of my add-ons not working it's ok so far.0
