To the OP, ive been looking on various websites.
Ive found for about £170 (maybe slightly above what you had budgetted for) there is a huge choice available.
    http://www.coopbedshop.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?ProductCode=DOR-MAT-FIRMSUPPORT150-X&BedSize=KING - for example.

im in the same boat (i was gonna put bed here but that would be a bit wrong) as you.

Apparantly over the last couple of months retailers have put the prices up so might be worth buying now? My mum bought hers not long ago and got what im looking for but for about £20-30 less.

The links are in post 6 Tim, NOT post 1 which I replied to, thats why I couldn't see any.

How dare you have a go at me for being insensitive to his budget, when it wasn't posted.

    I don't know about you, but I don't have a crystal ball.

Well he wouldn't be paying a lot of money for an Airsprung mattress would he? You must know that if you spent 7 months looking for a mattress.

I wouldn't know, I only looked at foam.

Threads on matresses & beds are not "owned" by you:rolleyes:

But you must have an idea about which are the quality brands as you seem to follow most of the related threads.

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but you are entitled to your view. But if someone gives bad/wrong advice then I will correct it. That isn't taking over the thread, it's making sure people are not given bad advice.

It seems you are one of very few people who have anything good to say about Dreams. And for some reason you don't like to hear a bad word said against them. The fact is that if you bought from Dreams then you will have paid over the top (even in their sale). No reflex/memory foam mattress is worth what you paid for it, as reflex foam is cheap, and the memory foam is exactly the same as that used in many other mattresses sold for a fraction of the price.

Not at all, I'm just very happy with my bed & if someone is looking for a recommendation that I think they can do no better.

But they can do way better, because they could pay a fraction of the price for an equivalent mattress made to the same specification, and in many cases actually using the same foam made by Kaymed.

You asked advice on MSE. Many people gave advice, but you decided not to take it (which is your choice). But why oh why do you keep recommending that people buy from a store that we all know has a reputation for being over priced, having pushy sales staff who know very little about their products, and having terrible customer service?

This is why each time you recommend them I will come on here and counter the bad advice you are giving. I don't like seeing people being ripped off by the large chain stores.
  • Still undecided if to purchase the item or not.

Is it just a coincidence that this guy becomes embroiled in all of these conflicts or is he just needlessly aggressive and tiresome?

We are not morons Tim... we understand what advertisers and shop assistants get up to. Sorry if this is difficult to hear but your 'knowledge' of the market is not so rarified a thing. Please just relax a bit.

Actually most people are taken in by the smooth talking sales reps. Otherwise most of the large chain stores would be out of business.

Shoppers/buyers are not nearly as stupid as you think Tim, frankly I find you assuming everyone is an idiot to be very condesending & rude, do you really think that little of your customer base:confused:

Large chain stores are sucessful because they give people what they want.

I do not feel I have been ripped off by Dreams, my bed is the most comfortable I have ever owned (like sleeping on a cloud springs to mind) & I am more than happy with it. If I could afford another for my DD I would buy a second.
