I would happily type up some of the recipes but would have to run the idea by the boardguides. I suppose if we give credit to John and Irma Mustoe it would be alright?

Well, we donated the recipe in the first place so we should be OK. Mine is adapted from an old charity fundraising book created by the staff at M&S, but I think its about sharing good recipes. We all do it with friends. Even Nigella Lawson does it in her books!

and how to survive without a salary.......fairly full book.......so over the weekend i will start to read the latter.. and will let you know what i honestly think..........:o

Following on from Kirstie Allsopp's one woman house renovation and redecoration show:rolleyes: I wondered if anyone else remembers SCRIMPERS. It was on Channel 4 in 1994 and featured Ray Brooks and Rick Ball - who showed, properly, how to REALLY save money including finishing off pallet wood and using it for furniture...among other things...

I for one would like to see it back - there were some brilliant ideas but it was so long ago I can't remember some of them...

    Definitely a OS programme!

Valli, I remember Scrimpers too! It was a great programme, full of really money-saving tips. I remember a Christmas edition where a woman decorated her tree with bows made of loo paper -it looked really good too, she was very inventive.
