I remember the tip to squeeze a loo roll so the core becomes an oval that way the paper breaks if you try to pull loads off.

    Hi Larmy,

Its viewerenquiries@channel4.co.uk. They send an automated reply saying it can take up to 4 weeks for them to send an answer.

I haven't got the foggiest idea what you'll get :D

And as for the other question - I googled :D

There's not a lot about scrimpers if you click the UK button :(

  • I have the book that came with the Scrimpers series (more of a booklet really)

In the 'further information' section they mention the ' Penny Pincher News' these were newsletters put together by the 'old' couple mentioned earlier, John and Irma Musto, I signed up for these and then bought the compilation book that came out later.

The Tightwad Gazette newsletters were mentioned too, I signed up for those as well and had them all sent over from the USA every month.

Then they recommended the Cheapskate Monthly books by Mary Hunt, I bought those too - and to think I wonder why I've no money? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I borrow the penny pinchers' book from the library pretty regularly, but I think the Tightwad Gazette is better even though it is so American.

The Tightwad Gazette is no longer available in newsletter form, but the complete thing is available from Amazon.

I can recommend it,there's a thread about it somewhere here.
