    morning!

freezing fog here! need to go and defrost the car in a minute as I'm off out for breakfast with about a dozen of my workmates. It is a year since my best friend Lesley died and her favourite meal was an all day breakfast so we are all having one in rememberance of her. She'd love this.

My friend Jan who is recovering from a cancer op has had a setback and had an infection but she is still at home so I am popping in to see her later.

OS wise - I need to do a shopping list for this afternoon as we're off to morrisons(still collecting our receipts for the £25 voucher) washing is on airer - bed has been changed - just got to get DS to do his.

Redruby (((hugs)) re Mum and Dad. Hope you get some news today re the house x

better get a move on, back later x

    Morning All :hello:,

MSD - no the PC was fine, but seeing as I'm in IT, I reckon I could've swapped it out before anyone would've noticed :D
Hester - :T you go girl!!!! Sometimes louder is the only thing these people will understand!
JackieO - :T well done Danny!
Redruby - while it's not nice, you've done the right thing sticking up for your Dad. Don't feel bad about it if your Mum is a bit frosty - it'll just mean she'll probably have realised you're right. No one likes to be told they're in the wrong do they? They say the truth hurts, but it'll be for the best in the long run.

Dead foggy here this morning. DH and I left early today so we could have a nice slow drive but it was fine and I was in earlier than ever!

Have got our work do tonight so OS is limited. When I got home last night I was so tired and thinking about the pile of ironing I had to do, only to find that my lovely, lovely Mum had done it for me, "as it was only a couple of shirts". Bless her - what a woman :A

DH and I have leftover bacon hotpot for our lunches, and DH will probably make himself what is referred to in our house as "a heart attack on a plate" for tea tonight! This usually consists of about 5 sausages, which he will fry in oil  (I know - like they need oil!), a chopped onion which he will fry with the sausage, a three egg omelette (yes you guessed it fried in the skanky oil) and a mountain of oven chips and brown sauce. Sometimes he even grates cheese over the sausage and onion! Doesn't hurt once in a while I'm sure but it makes me cringe to look at it!

Anyway, better crack on - have a lovely day all, hugs in abundance xx

    Morning everyone,

A busyish day for me today DS2 is coming to give me hand with some jobs. He split up with his partner earlier this year, I have seen more of him since than at anytime in the last 20 years!!! He was fantastic coming to do jobs when we moved and saved me a bucket of cash.......

Not a nice morning foggy and very cold bbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrr, I have put the heating on constant for the first time this year.........I will turn the boiler thermostat down when we go to bed, so the hose stays warm overnight.

Hester: I had to smile at your post last night, but so frustrating for you that you have to bust a gut before you get anything done, they really are the pits. I hope the minder get another job soon too.

HM soup at lunchtime and HM fish and chips for supper tonight, need to put the breadmaker on for bread.

Have a friend coming this afternoon for a cuppa, I made a pannetone in the breadmaker last week, sliced and froze it so will get 3 -4 slices out and butter them.

Right I am offsky for my second mug of coffe and to strip down my sewing room ready for DS2 when he comes.

Have a good day folks but take care in the fog......

    Morning all :)

I am at work. In a cocktail frock. It feels weird :) It is the lab Christmas dinner today - which starts at 11 am (after coffee break) so all of us are at work in black tie. I hope my cells appreciated it when I fed them this earlier :rotfl:

A couple more folksy orders to post off - one I can do, the other will have to wait until tomorrow as I need to make some more fimo ninjabread men and there isn't much work space at the mo. My house is still full of Germans. :)

I had a go at making a felt wrap last night - It's thicker than I hoped, but it's really warm and fluffy :) I machine felted a thicker small piece as well and used it to make a flower pin to secure the thing (it's wired onto a kilt pin and has some of the crystal beads from Prague in the centre). It matches my frock (which is teal) as I couldn't find anything to match on the high street - and juding by the fact there is freezing fog atm, I think I'm going to be glad of the warmth :) I still have loads of wool left (really loads!) so I'm going to try a cobweb felt one in the same colour when I have time. The colours aren't really clear on this, but it's blue, purple, silver and teal with a teal layer in the centre.

I put my foot down and am not going to visit the outlaws. I don't have time - and when a weekend suddenly becomes six days without any consideration, I think I have reason to be annoyed. I would never dream of asking him to take that much time off at short notice and I have a couple of meetings I really can't miss (my absense is noted as there are only two of us in the sector).

OSwise I have done nothing. My flat is a mess - I hate the fact OH and his friends still seem to be happy to live like students - and I can't do anything until the guests go home as there are airbeds made up in the lounge. I have refused to cook on the basis they are on holiday, so they can damn well do it themselves and I am ignoring the mess they are making. It's hard, but I will not crack.

have a good day all, cel x

Celyn They're fabulous! Do you knit them first then wash them to shrink type of thing? I can knit but have never felted before.
  • Morning everyone.
I know many of you suffer with SAD so I feel for you but I just love it when it's dark, foggy and frosty.
Had restless night with DD. Before she went to bed her temp got extremely close to 40 degrees. Now I am not one to flap in a crisis when the kids are poorly/injured etc but I was getting a bit concerned about the possibility of febrile convulsions if it didn't come down. Ended up stripping her just to her nappy and she felt like a furnace :( Thankfully calpol finally kicked in and although we've had a really restless night with her she is more sprightly (albeit tired) and temp is only around 38 now.

My neighbour has lent me some chocolate cook books :D so want to sit and have a good peruse sometime today and make my mouth water.
I cancelled my mindee for today so we are house bound and I am shattered. OS may well be limited to a general tidy up. H is working late tonight so tea will be something on toast probably.

Watched Kirsties Homemade Christmas - didn't enjoy this episode as much as the other two for some reason :o

H is picking up a scooter tomorrow. He's jacking in the cycling and his dad has bought him a brand new Aprilia Mojita Scooter (50 cc). It's very nice and a link is here http://www.speedaway.co.uk/showroom/popup_image.php/pID/725/invis/1?osCsid=isjfg3eldgcf2l3umlqhm6gsv3
It's quite retro looking and he's got a white helmet to go with it and he's going to get some goggles as it's not a full face helmet. Toad of Toad Hall springs to mind for some reason :rotfl:

Diva - aw how nice that Tris asks you to sing him to sleep. Do you do requests?!

Hester - am loving your strop. Sounds a bit like me when I really lose it

Bargainbird - good luck with your trip to the dentist OUCH!

Redruby - Hugs to you xx

Taplady - hope youre friends infection clears up soon xx

Tiredmum - hugs to you about your friends daughter xx

Celyn - hugs to you and your wrap looks fantastic :T

Goodness its taken me about 45 mins to write this due to kids interupting and needing cuddles etc.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.
