Havent yet finished reading through the whole thread but just had to reply, I think your positive is so positive and eeking with good vibes and gave me such a get up and go feeling! just what i needed as I sat here on a late night with my cup of tea contemplating my life as I turn 30 tonight!
Yes sounds sad i know.. But you know what, I've spent all evening (almost) reading through a variety of different threads all related to paying debts and or saving money or making money etc. Its inspired me, (as this forum always does) and I'm looking forward to making 2010 a year where I will finally change. BE more positive and pick up all those great ideas I always have that I start with such enthusiasm then falter halfway through.
wish me luck im gonna need it - I can procrastinate for Britainmoneymakestheworldgoround wrote: »oooh, lots of new joiners - this is going to be great !:jWell done to everyone joining - I've found the hardest bit is commiting in the first place so half the battle done !:T
I hope we can all keep each other motivated - if anyone is struggling feel free to PM me for a chat or a kick up the bum - I'll chat to anyone, me
I was contemplating having a separate bank account - a great tool to see it increasing ! So thanks for the Halifax suggestion.:D
From a previous challenge, I pinched someone's idea of a bingo board. You decide on a smaller amount to aim for( £100, £850, £1000 for example) then you make a bingo board with each square relating to £10 or £50. You then get to colour in a square when you reach that amount. Its great for sticking on the fridge, in your diary, or on the cupboard door to keep you motivated. Or you can make a Blue Peter style thermometer thingy ( totalizer ?)with your little goal at the top and smaller increments along the way then you colour in or mark each time you make money.
Its not everyones cup of tea, but it is a way of breaking down the £10k into smaller more manageable goals.
Spreasheets are good, but I do get a little OCD with them ! Little notebooks are fab - ideas will come to you in the strangest places - in bed, on the bus, in the middle of a meeting, in the park etc..
Some people work better with one extra idea and devote 100%, others like lots of little things to focus on to avoid getting bogged down or bored - it may sound obvious but work out which type of person you are - I have seen so many people try and become someone they are not because they think thats the way it 'should' be done. Be true to yourself and work within your family commitments, financial capabilities, personality, morals etc...
skintbint - the lady at our local car boot makes £1000 each Sunday on selling cupcakes and slices of fudge cake etc.. So I think your idea is FANTASTIC !!!
jamespir - I am no ebay expert but apparently selling worldwide increases your sales for unusual things. The Americans or Japanese might love your mirror. You would need to research postage costs though. Someone recently told me they sold a common tin kitchen bread bin to a Japanese man who paid a fortune - they love kitchenalia !
julie-toots - I wish I had known - I just bought 10 on ebay ! But what a great way of reacting to the market. There are the new ones coming out in Feb - someone on the hamster thread said they would love ones to colour co-ordinate to the hamsters with their names on - is that something you could consider? Also sleeping bags and little outfits were being mentioned ! Do you go on the thread?
Great idea about Tesco points - this is something I admit I dont use to its full potential. I will definitely be doing this in 2010.
Also matchbetting - anyone do this ?£2022 in 2022 - £1042/£2022

Hi Turia - you are in the right place
Welcome to Procrastination Central. :pAll procrastinators welcome and tips on how to write list after list without actually having to tackle the issue, are welcome:rotfl::mad:
Seriously though, I think there are a lot of us in here who could quite easily fade into the background and 'forget' we ever signed up to this challenge. So hopefully we can change our fates and knock procrastination on the head together.
So, welcome to a thread of teamwork, motivation and sharing ideas. Welcome to a long hard slog which will be peppered with laughs, tears, lows and highs and a general good sense of solidarity. I am imagining a sort of war time effort, pulling together and supporting each other and making this challenge a bit easier and lighter together.
And welcome to the best damn year you will ever have. This time next year we'll be millionaires :T

I'll update the list, once a day, in the morning, while there are still new challengers joining.
All the best.
Keep them coming!I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Hi all,
If we all achieve our aims we will become joint millionaires. 172 on the list so far times £10,000 equals £1,720,000, lets go for it!
No bingo win yesterday (but did get the e-mail).
Found 2p on the floor whilst clearing one of the unused bedrooms. Have started collecting all my e-bay/carboot stuff together in there.

How can you tell if you have won on Bingo britain when you havent been logged on during pre purchased gameS?0
-
Hi timnlaura,
Each day when I log back in if I have money in the box thing at the top (not the bonus box, the cash one) I know I have won the previous day. Don't know haw many times or on what games, but as long as they pay I don't care. Am I making sense? Or talking scribble again?

I spent yesterday taken pics of the stuff I have to sell so hopefully will spend tonight listing( I lead a sad life:o)
I've only spent £7.20 /£100 so far and £5 was for bingo(I'm another who hasn't won anything yet)
I really need to sit down and make myself some sort of plan otherwise I end up running around like a headless chicken and get nothing done.
I really want this to work0
