Also want to get some high quality flyers printed, any ideas on the best deals? Looking to get about 300 done.

    I used these guys recently
    http://www.just-print.co.uk/
for fliers for my small business and was very happy with the result - very high quality printing, very competitive and very quick turn round of my order. I'll be using them again. :T

ETA not sure if that will get removed as I don't know if I'm allowed to recommend in a post. If it has vanished then PM me ;)
  • still not a penny won on Bingo Britain :0<
Been away but now i am back!

  • Josieann - Im going to start matched betting this weekend - how is it going for you? Which bookies would you recommend starting with?

This has a list of some of the UK offers with ratings.
    http://www.free-easy-money.com/

I started with the lower ones fist as you don't need a lot of money to match the free bets.
Please make sure you read the guide over and over as it can be easy to make mistakes if your not 100%. As long as you fully understand it is a nice earner, I've made about £600 so far!
  • Here are some ideas i have played with over the last 18 months and either haven't had the time or the creativity to see them through. Feel free to use any you like the look off.

All my ideas work on the premise that i can add value to items via grouping. Grouping is profitable as your mark up can be more easily hidden.

Idea 1: Party boxes. Basically a party in a box. Contains everything you need for a kids party, new years eve party, office party, stag duo etc. Would sell a few in the lead up to the world cup if done right.
Idea 2: Cosmetic hampers, i have made these the last two Christmas's for family members costing very little if the items are brought in the sale. I made my girlfriend one as a moving in gift, cost £100 but had a perceived value of £300.
Idea 3: This idea has been done now but 70's, 80's, 90's hampers for birthdays. Collection of items from that decade, music, sweets, posters etc

Sometimes however the simple ideas are the best. These are some i have seen done in the past.

After every football match a man pushes a Tesco's trolley full of soft drinks through the queue at Wembley station selling bottles of drink @ £1 a go. He must take £200 in a hour.

At Arsenal a family sell drinks and snacks from their front garden to the passing trade. The same happens at QPR and at Brentford someone sells from a paste table. At Chelsea an old boy buys and sells old programmes been doing it for years. (check the trading laws before doing any off these)
    I
n my office we employee (this is outrageous) a company to supply a tuck box full of crisps and sweets. Each week a man refill's the box and collects the money. The prices are very high but people still buy from it. I have twice offered to run the box myself after complaints about service levels. He must make £10 a week for very minimal effort. £500 per year per box!

If you think that is crazy then we also employ a man to supply and maintain the office plants. He gets paid £200 a month to water and dust 20 large house plants. Yes if one dies he replaces it but none have in the last 4 years. Its 30 mins work every fortnight and to top it all he gets paid extra at Christmas to put up the Christmas tree and decorations. 1 hours work max.

Its easy to make money if you see an opportunity.

London boy some brilliant ideas! I think when i get to £200 im going to use £100 to match bet and to bet(very risky but its paid off before) Everything we put money into is a risk, this is just a bit of a higher risk.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Having trawled through some of the many pages on this thread, could I suggest to the OP that they add some of the best bits that others have had in terms of capital return to the original post.

This may save a large amount of time for others who are looking to capitalise on the time they have and convert this into £££'s.

This year, I set myself a traget to raise our Florida holiday money of £3k from things away from our salaries - achieved this via car boot sales, Quidco, betting, Ebay etc. I intend to do the same this year.
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.
  • Please add me too. Me and my Boyfriend (smallfries) are doing this ....separately but helping each other. Weve both joined the bingo website but have not won yet.....hoping to clear off debts and save for deposit for a house.
    Fingers crossed will keep updated!

I've spent £24.75 this morning on supplies. I aim to spend another £30-40 later. When I receive the goods, I aim to re-package and sell on eBay... each little collection will have cost me £2.36 to put together, and I will sell for £10.00 including P&P. very lightweight, I worked out the cost of a jiffy bag with postage will be under a pound, so I hope to make £6.64 each less eBay fees. I'll be able to make at least 20... so that's £132.80 return. There will be lots of "remnants" left over, with which I'll make up an alternative and sell for £5.00 each plus P&P. That'll be another £160.00,if they sell. So for £70ish pounds I'll get £292.80 back. Does that sound ok?

I'm also going to resurrect my blog and get selling on there. And I have had a root around at home and think I could raise probably £600 selling off unused craft stuff I've bought and never used! For example, I thought I'd like to take up drawing, so spent £70 on pencils - UNUSED!!! So they are going on eBay later.

To whoever it was talking about selling plants, I've never done that, but I do know how easy it is to grow your own from seeds for hanging baskets... Lobelia are very easy. A packet of seeds is about £2.00 and you get at least 100 plants... you need trays but they are cheap enough.

  • need abit of advice please.

Im thinking of investing in something. I gotta order it from China wholesale, and its a box LOT of 20 pieces.

This will cost me £387.86 delivered to my door. Now, this is just under £20 a piece. And looking on ebay the last few COMPLEATED LISTINGS were for:

    AUCTION:
    10 Bids Sold £45.00

    BUY IT NOW:
    £46.99
    £46.99
    £43.08 +£17.46 p&p
    £43.08 +£17.46 p&p
    £46.99

Now, there have been no more listings i can find on these... so surley this seems like a good bet...?... also.. current auctions are so far at:

    12 Bids £41.00 21m
    9 Bids £31.00 1d 10h 31m
    3 Bids £21.00 1d 23h 47m
    9 Bids £40.00 2d 11h 39m

So.. worst case senario, and i cant sell them, i should be able to put a buy it now, for £25, and shift them and still cover my postage??.. not making a loss..

The reason im concerned and scared is due to the large upfront payment (its protected), but im a bit of a wuss gambling with money on a credit card!!.. YIKES!

    So.... YAEY or NAI?
