  • Hi Mambury

I also have an Ebay shop and have had it for a few years now. There is nothing in it at the moment because I have got the hiliday settings on as it is too near Christmas to post anything out now.

It costs £14.99 a month for a basic shop and then you get reduced fees per item. It works well for me as I sell all sorts of things that I have around the house, found in Charity shops, jumble sales, car boots, table top sales etc. I put items up for auction first and then if they don't sell then it goes into the shop. Sometimes things don't sell and you move them into the shop and they go the same day.

What you don't get is any free listing days, so bear that in mind if you are gong to sell only a few things.

I am registered as a business and do pay tax, I also have a part-time job too, but do both to pay the bills. It takes hard work but if you are prepared to put the hours in then it does pay off. But make sure you and others you live with are happy having boxes of stuff and packaging materials about the house!

Have a look on ebay under selling and they have a section under shops. There is lots of info there, also I can recommend the forums on ebay, there are ones for business users & shops.

    Go for it!

  • thompson and morgan are offerering free p&p on orders up until 28th december

    http://www.thompson-morgan.com/

might be handy for people who are going to grow and sell plants etc

also dont forget after christmas there is going to be alot of plants in gift baskets etc reduced down because they didnt sell, so keep an eye out for these, as i have found once you take the plants out and give htem a bit of tlc they look lovely again, and sell quite well;)

dont forget broad beans in the new year...... just plonk them in a 9 or 12 pack container, and just leave them grow... sold quite alot of these last year, infact they were a better seller than the runner bean plants

  • As regards to my post yesterday,
I sold my Wii console & Wii fit!!
It sold for £192 plus postage but as I said earlier I was going to lose out on the postage, fortunatley the guy came and picked it up and paid cash. He didn't even check the boxes - I was a bit suspicious of him; especially as he paid using £50 notes! Took them to the bank right away and they were fine, thank god! :D
Learnt how to check they're real - rub them against paper and if red ink smudges on they're real :)

Saved on PayPal fees too, £170/£5000 - I'm on my way!
  • Well done you!:j

We were thinking about selling ours as DD has only used it twice! We asked at Game & Game Station and they both said they would give us the grand total of ............. £65 trade in

  • Can you add me in please - I've got ahouse full of decent stuff - mainly clothes and smellies to get rid off - this will mainly be ebay as my local car boot is rubbish - I stuggled to get £10 for a brand new Carron Phoenix sink tap and accesories last year!

Also - Any ideas on vinyl? I've got about 300 albums, pic discs etc to shift
  • Would like to join but i don't think i would reach half of that amount by the end of next year.

I will be looking at this thread like a money saving hawk, but good luck to everyone that is going for this challange, it does look interesting.

A tip before i go, just sold 4 O2 sim cards the other week for around a fiver each so thats £20 for signing up to free sims them selling them on ebay.

I'd love to set up a small website selling personalised crafty items, just need more info on how to do it as I can only do the very basic sites!

Use Etsy, they are really good you can set up your own branded shop. I think the fees are reasonable but you will have to check. Sorry, I am a new user so I can't paste the link.

Now - what I dont understand is people saying they will include cash earned from overtime - surely this is not part of the game?

I have £100 - going to try matched betting with £60 and something else with £40:o

There are no rules.....if you make 'extra money' via this route, then so be it.And as far as I'm concerned, this for most people is one of their only ways to get extra money,so it is a more than welcomed method of raising funds towards your target ! :T
