    Hi,
Like many of the other people on here I am thinking about selling cakes to make my £10,000 however I don't know if my cakes are good enough to sell to the general public. I have been selling my cakes to family and friends for around £15 but I know I could get more if people thought they were good. I would appreciate it if you would have a look at some of the pics I have and let me know what you think. Thanks

Saw this and thought of all of the chefs amongst us - a way of making some money through hungry house.

Whether a passion for food means you dream of running your own restaurant but don't have the capital to cover setup costs, or you simply need to supplement your current income, opening a Pop Up Takeaway through hungryhouse.co.uk could be the answer to all your problems.
With minimal initial layout and by following the simple steps laid out in this guide, you could be managing a takeaway delivery restaurant from your own home within a matter of weeks. If and how you then choose to grow your business is entirely up to you (although obviously we'll be here to help you as much as possible along the way).
Whether you choose to open an Indian, Thai, Italian or any other style of Pop Up Takeaway, you'll be in charge of your menu, opening hours and production and delivery of the food. We'll help you out by putting your menu online, in front of a massive pool of hungry customers. This will mean that rather than you needing to invest huge amounts in marketing, or spend time waiting for word of mouth to spead about your service, hungryhouse's customer reviews will work for you. If you provide a great service on hungryhouse, people will know about it right away (giving you even more orders!).
Have a look through this guide - all the sections are listed over to the right. Reading the guide will help you to decide whether becoming your own boss and opening a Pop Up Takeaway is for you. If you think it might be, please do fill out our registration form.

I can't post the url - but it is hungry house co uk

Also don't know if this is a silly idea or not... is it worth having a barter board/ giveaway board on facebook group. At the moment I have one digital camera which is worthless, trust me I have checked! But, it still works and would be good for someone who just wants a camera to take pictures for ebay. Happy to send it on to a new home!

You can recycle old digital cameras through www.simplydrop.co.uk, run by Royal Mail. It is a similar concept to mobile phone recycling. Not sure of prices but it might be worth looking into to see if you could get any pennies at all!

had a wee look the're great however couple of things - please dont be offended am only trying to help.
get yourself a cake leveller about £4 that makes the cakes totally flat and always turn upside down so you have a perfect flat surface, also brilliant for splitting cakes to fill with jam/butterice as you dont go squint!. buy a smoother use this to help get your icing to "stick to the cake" that way you dont get any marks and get a truely professional finish. when trimming icing around the cake i use a pizza cutter and just run it round the edges (make sure you have the bolt out the way or you'll mark your cake - i know its obvious but was one of the mistakes i made when trying it out) this gives it a fantastic edging, here is the link to my photobucket
i hadnt really done any before until the back end of last year. hope this helps - GOOD LUCK! http://www.photobox.co.uk/my/album?album_id=275854616

thanks, dont know how to fix it a bit of a technophobe! was working so maybe something wrong with their website, i hope, as i have it on my little business cards i made. Agree with this taking over your life though, everywhere you turn you are thinking what can i do there, is there money to be made? hopefully by the end of the year it will be "RICHBINT" am loving that!:rotfl:

what type of thing are you researching at the moment? Wonder how much we have all made come the end of the week or month, would be interesting to see a running total but very difficult to keep up to date.

    edit : link now working
