Skintbint your cakes are FAB! How much do you charge? Its my sons 16th on the 4th feb, and I love the football cake. Would it be possible to do it as a Man united style do you think?
at the minute just charge what it costs to make as have no PLI or registered with the Enviromental Health,(must get my backside into gear and get this done) you could change the colours to match the teams and replicate the styles of the strip - does man u have a black v on front?, on the back of the shirt i had "21" - design came from a book called Perfect Party Cakes Made Easy by Carol Deacon £12.99 @ WH Smiths (am sure there is or was a WH Smith voucher kicking about on the board somewhere) The football cake was the first one i did for anybodya nd thats how it mushroomed into all those Christmas Cakes, Once regsitered with the relevant agencies would probably charge about £25 for that one, my favourite is Santa with his chinese carry out and the beer tins lying round his feet

Maybe, if it's OK with Bing0, at the end of each month anybody who wanted to could submit an end of month figure, which could go against their name on the list.

That would be quite easy to track and collate, and would help keep the momentum going.
That sounds like a great idea, I'm up for that, and thankyou for all you have put into this thread too !!!!

Epic thread, I can't believe how many pages there have been since I posted, spend the last few days reading through all the posts and harvesting ideas. Thankyou! :D:j

I'm still in the planning stage currently and do view this 10k as a bit of a 'long game'. I have some royal doulton to sell on ebay as well as other random dog and car stuff that I'm working my way through and trying to declutter, so that'll all go first. I'm already a member of Quidco and other cashback and surver sites, but wasn't on dooyoo so signed up there. :T

Also at the planning stages of a babysitting business that I can do as a sideline to my dog training and walking work.

Re; blogs, is there a thread on here which tells you how to earn off them? I'd like to start one....will be called for dogs sake so guess the content.:D

Keep Positive everyone, we can do this. ;)

I know I am a bit of a late starter but can I please join in.
I work FT so don't have a lot of spare time. I do a small amount of mystery shopping at present too. Do I count mystery shopping in? Or do I say last year I did x amount and only count extra to x amount.
I have some stuff I can sell on ebay - just got to learn how to do it!!

I think its a great idea to get people motivated and would like to say thanks to the OP.

    Cheers :j

ps just read the thread above - I also do Quidco. So do I count anything and everything above my ordinary salary or just anything above what I did last year - oh heck I'm getting mysellf confused now!!!! Think its the cold weather!

  • In true MSE spirit, I rang up my gas/elec company and told them I was struggling paying the monthly DD, (which incidentally they had just put up!!!) and threatened to switch to a competitor...lo' and behold they put BOTH my gas and electric DD's down, so I'm saving £8 a month! thats £96 over the whole year which I'm gonna throw in the 10k challenge pot :)
Best thing is, according to the comparison sites, I'm on the best deal for energy supplier as it is, so switching wouldnt have saved me anything...but a crafty little phonecall is sometimes all it takes!
Try it, you might be pleasantly surprised how keen your current supplier is to hang on to you..lol!

Ok, need an opinion, found my old jewellery box last night. So I have some jewellery to sell (nothing amazing)
Got Playboy dogtags, a gold teddy necklace and an old white gold ring. Now I think the ring would be ok on eBay cos its technically and engagement ring but not sure about the other two. Anywhere else I can sell these? The golds 9ct so not worth going to my jewellers or that.
    TIA
  • There are a few places that buy gold for cash, and if you use a cashback site to click through to them, you might get cashback too....I guess it depends how much they value your necklace at though. Worth a try if the prices on Ebay arent up to much :)

I've added you to the list. OP has advised there are no rules. Do whatever keeps you motivated. All the best.

I'm not counting any of the stuff I do already in my total, but that's cos I really NEED the extra money day to day that I make from doing stuff like Quidco or mystery shopping. :D

Any new sources of income I'll add to my 10k figure and put it in a seperate aco!!!!. But you really can make your own rules with this one, there is no right or wrong.

As an aside, I'm on dooyoo now so anyone wanting to be in my circle of friends please PM me. :)
