Ddraig-thanks for the advice!
I will look into etsy for my crafting.
I ahve been getting quotes via quidco for house and car insurance- both due Feb, so anything I receive via that will go into the pot.
I just need to try to convince myself (andthis is a MAJOR stumbling block for me!) that ones womans tat is anothers treasure. I will go and have a mooch upstairs!lovin' this site!

i was wondering when all the buzzkills would start to join the thread, o well just the usual jealous people who know they cant do it so try and ruin it for everyone else, im bet if we add everyones total amounts togeather so far we are close to £1000+ and its only been a few days into the year im almost at £100 when my final ebay items end today and i got loads more to go on after, ive also got quite a few things lined up in wholesale where i can sell products on ebay cheaper than what they are currently going for and will earn a nice £120 profit from it.
keep going people!2017 Debt - £14.5k

Just wondering if anyone can help me with an Ebay query? I already have my own business /website as I make wedding jewellery. The business name that is registered for tax includes the words wedding jewellery. I am now buying some stuff to sell on eBay in the toy line so need to change my eBay account from private to business.,
Question is do I need to use my 'official' business name which won't sound very good or can I make one up? Or do I need to register another additional name with the tax people?
Thanks for any help :-)0 -

But what are you judging us on? You havent met us, or spoken to us, or watched a month's 'performance' from us .....
We are all starting this challenge with a small budget - a lot of us dont have the £100 to start with ! But we will complete it - maybe not the whole £10,000 but my aim is for the whole list to make it through the 365 days together - that would be a success !!
Have you looked through the other challenges on the site - and how many success stories there are? For all sorts of bizarre challenges? The thought of positive thinking has been around for years and can work for some.
Did anyone think Jedward would get through boot camp, let alone the live finals? Did Stavros Flahertly think one night in front of the telly they would enter and get to the BGT live shows? I would imagine Susan Boyle's community cringed when she told them she was going on BGT - can you imagine her hairdresser thinking ah, poor deluded woman, going to be humiliated...
My guess is you dont believe people win competitions, you dont believe people will get rick quick or slowly , or are being greedy for wanting more....
Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad - you remind me of one of them
WELL SAID! xxxxxx We can do this... Jed we can! ;o)0 -
For those who sell books on amazon do you usually send first or second class as it says 3-11 days delivery for standard.
If second class can you still get proof of postage slips and do you use jiffy style bags?
Listed my books last night and got my first sale today :-)

Og and got a well thumbed Green day tab book too!
Pacifica's dont seem to go tool well on ebay (Just checked!) You can get them new for £185 at the mo online, so I'd suggest speaking to a local guitar shop first and see how much they'd give you for it - decide if thats enough for you, and if not stick it on ebay under "Yamaha Pacifica PAC112V Electric Guitar" with "Like Fender Strat Stratocaster" in the sub heading and then stick on a Buy it now with what you actually want. (BIN's seem to work very well for guitars!!) if it doesn't sell then you can always go back to the guitar shop.....Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
jo70mo - like the post, its true if we just sat back we would all be still living in the dark ages if nobody had drive and determination, its just so happens that this forum is buzzing with it!!!

people who do well take the opportunities that present themselves. Those that think positively are more likely to notice the opportunities as they are more open to them happening.
Richard Branson did lots of unrealistic things because he decided he wanted to and then found a way to make it happen. Not all of them worked but he kept going.
Edison tried thousands of different filaments before finding a system that worked.
mr sainsbury was illiterate and got turned down for a toilet cleaning job cos he couldn't fill in the form.
On his walk back home he spotted tomatoes on sale that were cheaper than where he lived. He could only buy a few but bought some an sold them and went back for more.
Being realistic his poor education should have left him down and out for the rest of his life.
Being realisitic offers no hope of anything more.
Aiming high and setting off on the journey to have fun and see how far you can get offers the possibility of more.
The thing is not to be realisitic but to know that you can live with it whichever way it works out and not to be too attached to it except for the experience and the challenge. Dream big but know you can be ok whatever happens. We don't need to pin everything on pulling this off but just open to the possibility that we might do.
Its not all about money either it might be earning less but loving what you do so most of your life is spent doing something that makes you happy.
I am a terrible singer and I used to bemoan the fact that I could never be a singer as I love it. Now I have 2 kids and we sing all the time and actually my singing is improving. But I actually am loving it- its free and we all have fun. So I am not earning a living from it but I am adding to my life with it.
The number of times I have been taking an interest in something and needing some information etc only to have it spookily materialise somewhere I would not have expected is amazing.
However it is not amazing because once something is on your mind you are more likely to notice stuff even if at that moment you are not actively looking for it.
Just like when you buy a new car you suddenly notice lots more of the same sort on the roads. They were always there but you weren't tuned in to notice them before.
This challenge and the thread that supports this are simply keeping our minds tuned into the possibilities and opportunities we might find.
If you think positively that something is achievable you are more likely to take the actions necessary to do so. It might ot happen but something even better may come out of it.
You may meet your future partner at a boot sale. You may make a lifelong friend on a forum. You may find a new hobby that brings you happiness for years to come. You may find your dream job or career through the contacts and friends you make - It might not earn you 10K more but add loads of value to your life.
You might find a battered old camper van and have heaps of fun exploring with your family.
Whatever the end result something will be added to your life. AS Edison said each filament that didn't work was a success inn adding to a list of stuff not to be used. Mistakes are knowledge.
Choc chip cookies were invented as a result of improvising a mistake as were may other inventions.
All studies into lucky and unlucky people show significant differences in what they believe is possible and not just as a result of what has happened to them ie they don't just feel lucky because good things have always happened to them but view the same mishaps and opportunities in completely different ways.
Great post, a lot of inspiation here. Around every corner is a new and fresh opportunity. What is for you won't go past you. Just make sure you grab it when it comes along.
Everyone make sure you enjoy what you are doing and it will become a lot easier. Most of us will work for someone in sme form or another but when we do something for ourselves it makes it a bit more special don't you think.
Ebaying away as I chat, good luck!!!0
