First two items up on ebay.

I've got so many CD singles and old albums its hard to know what to do with them. The easiest would be to put on amazon I think, but with some of my CD singles, there's 3 or 4 listings seemingly of the exact same single with prices ranging from 25p to £25!!

copperjar - in that case I would stick with how you are listing them and at the price u want to get and forget everyone else. I've had the same thing happen to me before yet people have still bought my items above everyone else's

Hi all, would anybody have any recommendations on where is the best place to sell books. Amazon vs Ebay???

have a look at each site and compare the prices, you might end up getting more on amazon but they do have hefty charges, personal choice i would say.

  • dont forget play.com for selling items, also green metropolis or something like that - a big thread about the pros and cons of all of them on MSE somewhere.

Never underestimate the power of getting to know the managers of car boots - preferential treatment re pitches is fantastic, getting to know who is who, who buys what, what does well etc... I grovel at every new car boot I go to, pay lots of compliments etc.. and in a couple of weeks I have a decent pitch !

I did well with cold drinks at a car boot. I waited for the bogof deals in the supermarkets and the cans worked out about 13p each. On the day I then waited for the ice cream seller to sell out ( about 10am on a boiling hot day) and then put out the cans at 60p each. Cool bags with lots of ice cubes work well enough to keep them cool. I sold all the cans I had taken within 30 mins, didnt step on anyones toes because I wasnt competing, and as they were sealed items people didnt have a problem purchasing from me.

Not sure on the rules about this though

Someone I knew did well with freezer pop lollies in the summer on the beach - he would freeze them at home and take them in a cool box down to the beach and wander up and down selling them for £1 each. People prefered to buy from their space than wander to the kiosks. He didnt do it legally but he made about £200 for half a day. I did make him speak to the council about regs and there wasnt many at all due to being pre packed items, but he didnt pursue the legalities of it at all

Yes Ebay/ Amazon / Play ect take you through the listing step by step. If you're stuck for what to write as a description, check out other listings for the same or similar products for inspiration.
