Good idea. I will do this. I have a terrible habit of getting home, feeding the kids and spending far too much time on MSE, instead of getting on with things that need doing
I need a damn good slap!!!!!!!0 -
oooh, i think i will join in this one too!!! i love a good boogie....in fact i havent done a flylady boogie for ages and i feel that my house is in dire need of one! (especially my room!) i am trying to gradually embrace the "more is less" mantra....November NSD's - 70

Please can I play, too?
In the last couple of weeks I have been gradually trying to get things in order - shining sink, keeping up to day with ironing etc, ... even cleaned the kitchen windows.
But I know there is a lot of clutter tucked away.....
and I can feel the impetus drifting away....
cos I am one of those people who throws themselves into things .....
and then fades away into slobdom again....
and I really hate doing that...
cos I love it when everything is organised and nice
and there is no mess.....
and friends comment on my neat house
(probably cos its so unusual for me!)
So I really need the boost of encouragement (aka swift boot from behind or squib) Will start Monday. In the bathroom. Thanks!0 -
I was thinking seriously about this on the way to the chippie tonight
I have a wall of fitted wardrobes with cupboards and they are all delightfully neat with Anthea style wicker baskets, one for scarves, one for bags etc etc.
The only problem is....
those scarves, bags etc are never usedIn the scarves basket is my Scotland rugby scarf, my Wales rugby scarf given to me by Max Boyce at Cardiff Arms Park, now how can I throw that away
but I had read in another thread on MSE about photographing such treasures such as Moggins suggests so if I am not about for a fortnight I will be busy with the digital cameraI will probably never look at the photos either but at least a space can be made!
Then I think I need to investigate selling on Ebay and get rid of the multitude of evening bags, day bags, beach bags etc etc
I'll consider the tackling of these cupboards one whole room I think and try and fit in a 45 minute burst both before and after work

Eeek! I got all sentimental when I wrote my last post and went off to reminice over my old university notes. Well I haven't seen a bigger load of old twaddle in years!!!! No wonder I never once referred to them since the day of the last exam. I've been ruthless and every single last page of them is now in a bag in the boot of the car ready to go to the recycling centre! They are going tomorrow:j and that uninspired bit of my life will be history!!!!
The box they were in is now being loaded with items to go to the charity shop, and this includes things that were gifted to me but which were never really me. Maybe somebody will get some use out of them, must be better than being stuck in a cupboard.
I haven't jumped the gun Moggins, honest miss!! The box with the notes in was on the sofa (actually still is), and there is so much clutter on my chairs in the sitting-room I can't actually sit down. So I gotta find homes for all that stuff before I can actually clean anything. I just KNOW there is a lot of cat hair under the clutter so have to work out a method of keeping that under control.
Looks like we've got lots of takers on this challenge. This is fab! Guess Sunday will be a good day to make sure I've got all the things I'm going to need ready, eg Stardrops, cloths and so on.
I think I'll actually start cleaning the bathroom on Monday. Erm, nervous cough...should that include the airing cupboard_pale_ which is in my b'room??0
