Radio on..... Boogie.... very loud (over the noise of the Dyson!) and I will do the skirtings and windows.... now its been mentioned - was going to let them slip my mind.... I going to feel guilty now If Idon't do them:wall: :wall:

    Never mind

Er ... if you live anywhere near me ... can you please wear headphones if you want a *very loud* boogie? Noisey neighbours are more wearisome than dustbunnies or clutter. *insert nervous twitch smilie*

E'lass - if you are going to go to those extremes ... may I suggest .... simply take your specs off! *ducks*

I'll jump in on this one.....Already started this week with DD2's room and my room.....got 3 sacks of rubbish and 1 for the chairty shop out of them...where does it all come from????

I'm not doing the windows though, got the builders due in the next few weeks to start on an extension....there's just no point cleaning them to get all mucked up again.....my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

As for the box idea...I always do that - everything that's not in it's rightfull place goes in the box, the room gets sorted and then the box gets sorted....anything in the box without a home, goes to a smaller box in the airing cupboard...then when I clean out the airing cupboard I envariably chuck away all the stuff in the box cos I forgot I had it!

I plan to do the living room on Monday - a 9 draw dresser, a 5 draw, double cupboard craft cupboard, bookshelves and the computer desk all need attending too.....

Thanks for the spur on Moggs!!!

  • I wish I could join in this. My house is also in a mess, due to poorly daughters and working extra hours to catch up those lost when I had to take time off for them.

    Unfortunately I work 3 days a week and so I can't do a room a day :o

Can I join in at the end of the week and try to do at least some of it?

I'm going to view this as a game so I would like to play if thats ok?

    Please can i play? :rotfl:

As if! I dont want to play really!

Ok, I'll be grown up & play. I've got lots of rooms though and I work full time so if I can get every room done in my house this week I'll be a very proud girl. :D

Oh, not to be a spoilsport though but I 'aint doing no windows - I've got a husband for that :D

I hereby do solemnly promise that on Sunday before I go to work I will clean the bathroom
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

What about a little room before or after work?

    Or half a room?

Or turning it into a 2 week challenge?

I might end up going over the week but am determined to post here to keep myself motivated!

This thread could last a while if I do that :rotfl:

Quackers - I feel really guilty and pathetic now. I only work 3 days a week and you work full time, yet you are still going to do it. I'm ashamed :o

I need to kick my a** into gear and make some extra effort. I hate housework when it's really hot too. I know - excuses, excuses :o:o

You're right, I really need to get a grip and do some after work :o

I have loads of magazines eg Eve, She and what have you from the £1 subscriptions thread, plus some photography mags some of which are quite old, having transported them from England to Ireland two years ago (how dumb am I?). Do charity shops accept magazines? (I know some people will suggest giving mags to the GP surgery but they always have mountains of them there - same with the dentist.) So should I give them to a charity shop or not?

I am in "cat hair hell" with feline hair stuck to every single garment I possess, including underwear (I am serious!). How do I get rid of it without getting rid of or shaving the cat?

HELP NEEDED!!! Eight years ago I did a HR Management, with Training & Development, course at university. It was two years long and I have the notes in a box which I also transported from England to NI two years ago. (To clarify the course ended eight years ago...) They represent a lot of work on my behalf, and a lot of pride in getting the qualification and graduating. While I haven't quite got around to consulting them since I finished the course I feel guilty about slinging them. Where do I get the motivation to say goodbye to these notes...and everything that they represent???

The above is for the planning of The Blitz...gotta know what I am going to do with the various items I need to deal with.

    Thanks in advance.

You can do what every you want hun, why don't you come home from work, have a little rest and then grab a timer, pop into any room in the house and work for 45 mins? You'll be amazed at how much you can get done in that time.

Snowy get those mags straight into the recycling bin, then they can get made into something useful again.

Could you sell the notes on E-bay? if not spread them out and take a photo of them, then consign them to the recycling too, you know you put in the work, nothing can take that away from you - you don't need physical evidence to prove it :)

For the cat hair, wrap some sellotape around your hand so the sticky is pointing outwards and just dab, dab, dab!!
