WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO lounge done YAY ME :T :rotfl:Bulletproof0

I've successfully managed to make all the other rooms look really cluttered when we emptied out the living/dining room to do the rennovation work.
To make it worse, DH managed to break my Dyson, so i can not hoover up the dust. I will have to try and do what i can i think. I'm on top of my washing and have a couple of loads of DH's stuff to do. I tried to shift the ironing too.
Unfortunately we'll get very little done today. DH is bringing a hoover home from work with him, so hopefully we will resolve one problem this evening. But i'll then be going out for a meal to celebrate a friends birthday, so i think just a pootle around in the kitchen to keep it bearable. It will have to be sorted quickly as i was rather lethal trying to manouvere around the kitchen where DH has moved the dining room furniture to. :rotfl: My bump stopped me turning round and i nearly tripped over the cat, and i felt like i was doing one of those puzzles where you slide the tiles around to try and arrange the picture.
At least i got rid of a lot of clutter. Now i just need to sort through the rest at a slightly more leisurely pace than DH insisted on yesterday.
What was your new thing for this week Moggins? I didn't spot it.

Hello All
Hope you dont mind a newbie like myself joining in!!! I have read some of the thread with much interest and have realised that without even meaning to I have bcome a Fly lady over the last week or so.
My other half is working away so its just me and the dog, and my last few days have been spend decluttering and generally cleaning/tidying the house to a level it has not seen since we moved in 2 years ago - we are such sluts!
I have had to take the opportunity now, as he is back on Friday but I am sooo proud of my achievements, most probably because he hasn't been here asking 'why are you doing that?' 'where are you putting that?' 'i need that!' etc, I guess we have all been there.
So to list tonights effort, I have done as follows:
1. Emptied cleaned and sorted all kitchen cupboards
2. Sorted out crockery cupboard for some unused items for the charity shop
3. Cleaned the oven it was well manky and needed doing, as every time we cooked a chicken (quite often) it would smoke and set the fire alarm off!!!:o
4. Accumulated 3 black bin liners of rubbish of various nasties found in cupboards, including a jar of peanut butter dated 2002!
5. Cleaned the fridge and disposed of manky jars of stuff that have seen better days
6. Cleaned the sink, put vinegar/bicarb down it - it smells sooooo nice!
7. Washed down all the woodwork as it needs a lick of paint
8. Swept and mopped floors
I felt like I could have carried on and done another room but bearing in mind its a marathon not a sprint I decided I had better leave myslef something else to do tomorrow night to while away the hours.
Over the past week I have also tackled
1. Our bedroom - all wardrobes, drawers sorted. Clothes taken to charity shop. Bed moved and hoovered underneath - was v dusty and nasty
2. Spare Room - all books sorted on shelves and dusted, filing completed including other halves Uni work which has been hanging around forever!
3. Box Room - sorted airing cupboard out but thats about it as we are just finishing having a new bathroom fitted so all the stuff from there is in there at the moment. That said I did purge our toiletry collection.
4. Bathroom - nowt to do in here as its a blank canvas (once the plumber finishes tomorrow) and it will not see any clutter. I repeat no clutter.
5. Cupboard under stairs, emptied, sorted and rearranged. Looks massive now.
That just leaves the living/dining room which I can easily do tomorrow, the landing and the hallway are fine. I feel more tired from writing it all out than from the work itself.
Before OH returns on friday I am going to try to put together a household manual and try to be more disciplined. The house has never been so tidy, and I think in part that is due to there being no bloke in it at the moment!:D
Anyway, good luck to all you other Fly Ladies (and Gents)

I have made a start on hallway. We knocked out what was the cupboard under stairs to make a utility, one day downstairs loo. Currently open as we haven't completed project
I knew DH was putting bags (kids, handbags, overnight bags, swimming bags) down by the side of the WM but had no idea how many:mad: . I have pulled them out but because I haven't got to the bedrooms yet they have nowhere to go and are currently cluttering my tidy dining room:mad:0 -
oooo I hope he emptied the bags first....soggy swimsuit and mouldy sandwiches wouldn't be very appealing....0

well i have decluttered and put everything away in my bedroom :T , just the drawers to tackle, going to declutter and tidy away each room first then do detailed cleaning the flylsdy way, not sure if i can get into her mega routines, but i am definatly going to try and set a morning and bed time routine(the bedtime one is emphasising lots of baths and pampering myself getting ready for sleep, yay!) Once that is done i think i mught keep the missions, flyspot areas and the pamper missions going, oh and keeping my sink all shiny
. Loads thrown out, even more going to charity and some stuff to get sold this sun at the car boot. My house is going to be all clutter free, woo hoo :j

Well done veryone..
I'm afraid I was super slack yesterday..but will be back on track after breakfast!
I'm amazed at how easy it has been to keep the rooms i've deep cleaned neat..I am much more careful about not leaving clothes on the floor/ mugs by the bed / dishes in the sink etc, and make the bed, swipe over the surfaces and hoover / quickly mop every morning, which has kept it all looking sparkling!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
