Problems with Zavvi. Anyone else?

    Wii controller ordered 30/11 - still waiting. Mind you, wh smith took best part of a month to despatch the same item. Can't see why there's a delay and can't reorder elsewhere as it was only £17.95 :confused:

    The entertainment part of WH Smith online is run by the Hut who are the people that also run Zavvi and a load of other entertainment sites (ASDA, Woolworths etc).

    I have ordered from them several times and everything arrived very quick, in fact they arrived before my order from play.com which Im still waiting for.
  • I ordered a Family games Wii game. Heard nothing for ages, so ordered it at the same price from Amazon. That came the next day - but still nothing from Zavvi. Tried to cancel that order, just to be notified it was too late to stop it. So will have to send it back ( when and if it arrives) , and not sure how slow that might be.

    I'm sticking to Amazon from now on, even though they don't give cashback, they offer a brilliant service which always seems to arrived the next day ( without paying for guaranteed next day delivery).

    I used Zavvi for the first time recently and all hasn't gone as smoothly as I'd hoped. For starters, their prices weren't the cheapest, but I had a voucher to spend so I ordered three things from them. One has arrived, another is supposedly on it's way, and the third item (an NDS game) is showing with an estimated dispatch of 24/12/09. When I placed the order for this game, it said that it was due back in stock so it let me go ahead and complete the order (unlike OOS items which it obviously won't let you order) but didn't give me any indication when I would be likely to receive it before I placed the order. It was only AFTER placing my order, when I checked the order status in my account, it said that it was due for dispatch 24/12/09 so it obviously won't get to me before Xmas.

    Now here's the really annoying bit - when I contacted them and asked to change my order to a different game, they said they couldn't and that I'd have to cancel and re-order a different game. BUT, because I'd used a voucher to pay for part of my order and this had been allocated against the three items, if I cancelled one item then part of my voucher would be lost, and they wouldn't re-credit me to use against buying a different game. :mad:

    So to summarise:
    • ZAVVI failed to inform me that if I ordered the game, it wouldn't get to me before Xmas.
    • When I noticed the dispatch date, I asked them to change my order but they said they COULDN'T.
    • They have told me that if I cancel my order, they won't issue me with a new gift voucher / credit note, so I'll have to pay the full price for a replacement item (even though I've effectively part paid for the cancelled item by using my voucher).
    Just thought I'd warn people how Zavvi operate. Definitely not the kind of company I'd choose to deal with again. :(

    (Oh, and to add insult to injury, after paying the outstanding balance by credit card, I got an email to say "We are sorry but due to a technical error the payment for your order has been taken more than once. This has been corrected today." - so they can't even get that right).

    No, I have ordered lots of stuff in the past few weeks and been very impressed with their delivery times, and service.
  • i ordered horrid henry on 1st dec and having done a lot of my xmas shopping online this is the only site that has yet to deliver any goods!! I have had no emails to notify me of a delay and on my email it states it will be despatched in 3 working days!

  • i ordered batman for the 360 its not turned up yet and had a email yesterday to say they duplicated my order so they have sent and charged me twice so by the time it ever turns up here i have to return it for a refund (so probably not before new year) meanwhile my bank will probably go into the red through no fault of my own

    Mine says "processing" but it's been processing since I ordered the item over a week ago now and is apparently in stock. Shows it is waiting to be picked and should be despatched on 10/12/09! My emails have gone unanswered. Wondering whether to try and find the CD instore somewhere else as I need this to complete an xmas gift and post this week.
  • I just ordered from zavvi for the first time last week, I ordered tekken 6 and wii fit. 6 jan
    First I get an email telling me they have taken multiple payments, then I see only tekken 6 is dispatched (charged for tekken 6)
    I recieved this morning - wii fit plus with the invoice for £14.95, the account page shows wii fit as pending.
    No reply from zavvi from the last 2 emails.
    So overcharged and wrong item dispatched, only reply I got so far via message service was compete nonscence about waiting up to 2 weeks for an item to arrive. No mention of their mess up.
    Not sure what to do next?
  • I ordered an 'in stock' t-shirt on 01/12 and it still hasn't arrived despite several unanswered emails. I got a dispatch email today so maybe it will arrive soon but it's rather annoying!
