Beware of Parcel monkey

Im not sure about parcelmonley's status but from your post I realise its not parcelmonkey's fault its bloody Citylink's fault. Parcelmonkey is a middleman that orders the courier pickup for you at a lower rate if the courier arrives then parcelmonkey has done their job, from then on anything that happens to the parcel is the couriers fault i.e the parcel didn't get to the delivery address, Citylink has always been late when I recieve a delivery from them. Unless parcelmonkey somehow places the order for pickup and then take the money back from the courier, don't know how that can happen, though.
True, the loss was CityLinks. I accept that any courier moving vast ammounts of parcels can have problems, thats just life. But my contract is with ParcelMonkey.
The real issue here is that despite now some 9-10 attempted correspondances with Parcel Monkey, they have to date not responded once other than automated receipt flags.
I have no issue with mistakes as long as they are resolved.
Parcel Monkeys total disappearance has meant endless discussions with Citylink - who to be honest have been most efficient.
I will now use CityLink directly and cut Parcel Monkey out.
I send out about three parcels a day on average, multiply this by the six weeks I have stopped using PM and that is around £500 in lost business to them.

hi door to door... just happened to spot this thread... i tried parcel monkey for the first time in december, and the courier never turned up for 3 days in a row, and it took over a month to get a refund, which i only got in the end by paypal claim, all i got was fob off ticket replies , and even these were weeks late...
i really must say that i feel you have no right to get cross at people if they have received a bad service, and your attitude on this forum has ensured i will not return as a customer again... i suspect i am not alone in this sentiment!0 -
I used parcel monkey the week before christmas just as the snow hit .
I booked parcel at 10am and had a knock on the door at 11am its was citylink parcel collected was delayed a couple of days due to weather but got delivered before christmas.0 -
I have quickly skimmed through this thread as my blood is already boiling over the two names mentioned !!!!!
Long story short The beginning of November 2009 I had around 30 parcels to be posted through parcel monkey I paid over £150 for this service where they used City Link . They never turned up and after contacting them on the telephone number I had then I got told everyday off parcel monkey they would be collecting the following day - Then we hit the bad weather - Still no sign of them [ I had people waiting in my house everyday all day -EVERYDAY } for them to turn up !! At the time I lived 15 minutes drive away from City Link depot - spoke to them and they kept putting me off also until the next day - Every phone call was apologetic I spoke to different members of staff and management and got Knowhere !!
My last conversation about this was in late January 2010- Im still waiting for my refund and cannot contact them . When I visit the website It does not recognize me as a customer , thetrefor I can not view my order . Also I have now moved house and do not know where I stand now on this matter !!??!!
THEY STILL OWE ME £150
To add City Link say is is nothing to do with them as I should chase up parcel monkey , whom do never reply to my emails even thow I still have the order number to hand !!
Does anyone know the telephone number for parcel monkey where I will get a reply please ???? The one listed is incorrect and 118 told me another wrong number :mad:Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin

maybe going through small claims is your best option in this case?0 -
I used Parcel Monkey for the first time last week and service from them was exemplary!! The item was collected by City Link and delivered within less than 24hrs!!
Now compare that to Parcel2Go/Hermes who failed to collect for 3 days then took a further 5 days to deliver!! I certainly know who I'll be using in future“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
I booked a collection for yesterday 2nd Feb. no collection. Emailed and reply stated that when UKmail came to collect I wasn't ready and they would collect on 3rd Feb (Not true, parcel has been sat by front door since Sunday). No collection yet today so rang UKmail who told me they never tried to collect yesterday and wouldn't collect today as Parcel Monkeys account has been suspended for non payment..... Now trying to get a refund......
[MSE OFFICIAL INSERT POSTED ON BEHALF OF PARCEL MONKEY]
Hi everyone,
Please contact Nav@parcelmonkey.com if you have made a UKmail order that was not collected yesterday.
Now for the facts:
Ukmail began with us on 17.01.11 and like all contracts a credit limit was set. As the service was going well soon after UKmail asked for more volume from us. We gave this to them and at 09:30 yesterday morning had a call from our account Manager saying the account had been suspended some 91/2 hours before due to reaching our credit limit which they never raised on the back of more volume
No emails were sent or phone calls made to us by UKmail so we could switch it off and avoid customers being left stranded.
We were told at that point collections booked would go through ok but we should switch it off asap. This was done straight away and no bookings with UKmail have happened since.
We offered to make the outstanding payment at that point but could not as no invoice had been created by UKmail!!
We asked once a payment was made would the account go back on and we were told yes.
Yesterday afternoon we got an invoice and we paid up our account less £1,000 to allow for any small issues etc.
UKmail never switched the account back on as they had to do an investigation as to what had happened!!
We were told it would come back on late last night or today but again this has not happened.
We have just found out that we have a meeting next week to go over this with them and our hope is it goes back live asap.
What we can't have happen again though is for them to switch the account off without warning as this leaves you as our customers in the lurch.
There are some 350 orders caught up in this mess, created by UKmail, and our intention is for all concerned to get a full refund and have a free shipment with City Link up to the weight of the order that failed with UKmail.
We are deeply sorry for those this involves and ask that you make contact with us or respond to the email that will be sent out soon.
Sorry for posting this on here as I know it's against the rules but the message needed to go out before all sorts of lies get posted again on this thread.
Kind Regards,
Matt.0 -
i stopped using parcel monkey ages ago, they were rubbish, even though a family member had never had any issues with them. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and after finally getting through to them, they told me a load of rubbish so i checked with city link to re-arrange pick up and they had no record of a collection being booked. Avoid!0

and wouldn't collect today as Parcel Monkeys account has been suspended for non payment.....
I hope it is just a temporary oversight and not a signal of deeper issues. There was a large parcel company a year or two ago that was well used that went down in a matter of days and several posters on MSE lost a great deal of money.
perhaps if other people are still receiving a good service and no problems with PM that they might want to post to redress the balance and to reassure people with outstanding monies owed to them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. monkey parcel are dodgy, i had exactly the same experience a few months ago, i said id never use them again but relectantly did the other day and had no problems
i think the bad points outweight the good so definutly stick to other carriers if possible, the reason i was a bit stuck was i bought a laptop and wanted it insured, whether monkey parcel would pay out is another arguement but myhermes - who i have been recommended since not dealing with mP no more have laptops on their list of excluded items your not allowed to send, for some reason! maybe you can send them and there not insured, no idea but didnt fancy risking it0
