  • Well, I pressed on, and it did indeed come out as 0.00 at the end. Odd thing is that now, for my subsequent listings, it's showing at 0.00 all the way through.
    Thanks for your help soolin.
  • Takes me about 15 mins to photograph it, edit the pic, type the ad out; then after the win, pack it all up, take it to the post office etc

That's about £6 an hour pay to draw even (on the time you took) so it actually means unless you are paid the min wage then it makes sense for me to take it to the charity shop (next to the supermarket so no special journey); I get rid of the cr*p, do a good deed, and don't make a loss making ebay and paypal rich :)

£6 is more that my job pays so its still good

Don't worry, when you list nothing will show in your account. Try one, then check your account and you'll see it is free. I don't think they changed this as it is just a temporary measure.

  • I've just started to have a serious house sort out and so far have been selling clothes and toys on Ebay. Have decided that clothes are really quite a lot of work to photograph well, package etc so DVD's are my next area to tackle in my quest for cupboard space and a bit of cash.

Was really pleased to read Cally's post that free listing had been extended. I thought I had missed the boat with the free listing so am feeling more motivated now.

As a newbie I've read the various threads about free postage and packing on media items so I presume there's a minimum price that a DVD has to sell for to make a profit and a best way of posting to minimise costs.

Please could someone let me know the secret formula! ie. jjiffy bag or something else, size of jiffy bag, second class post?, starting price to maximise my sale. My kitchen scales are pretty rubbish so I'm not sure if the weight of a standard DVD is over 100g taking it into a higher weight range.

I don't want to make a schoolboy error in my listings so do any of the old hands have any tips please!
  • Sorry Guys- have done a boit more searching and found this really helpful recent thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2195155&highlight=dvd+price started by Leanne200 which pretty much answers all my questions! Now to start listing!
