note interesting that most heating engineers seem to say that A rated boilers seem to last on average less than 7 years (google it) - this compare to lifespan of 20 - 30 years for traditional less efficient boilers

also ask yourselves this question - how long is the guarentee for?

most are between 1 - 2 years - what does that tell you?

Is it worth delaying the installation of a boiler then do you think?

An extra £400 off the bill would be extremely handy, especially now.

How long is the guarantee on a old boiler? service insurance would be relevent not guarantee or are you saying Kia are over twice as reliable than Lexus?

Depends if you think that extra ton of CO2 per year and on average at least £200 per year to run it is worth it.

I doubt a new boiler takes a ton of CO2 to make even if it did It would have paid for itself and saved energy within 2 years if you use the scrappage (based on a £800 boiler)

Depends on who is inheriting the world after you I suppose.

you will evetually have to replace your boiler anyway (thats a given - they don't last forever - ignore what spartacus said)

you need to weigh up a lot of variables

how old is your current boiler - are you currently having problesm with it

how energy efficient is your home (insualtion etc)

how much it would cost you to replace (big variables here - do you know a plumber who can do it cheap)

are you replacing a combi for a combi etc etc

how long is the scrappage scheme going to last for

    etc etc

for best internet prices for new boilers see link below

Yes, lot to consider, but I've been through the process and as I said in an earlier posting, I have an engineer lined up to replace it next week.

Ironically, I had chosen the WB 30CDi, so the reviewcentre link doesn't fill me with confidence now!

Why should people commit to spending 2.5K now if they can wait until after Christmas and get £400 off?

They haven't even announced when it will start.
