You're right, thanks. I'll stop worrying about it. Do I need to respond to her message and if so, what would be an appropriate response?

Id just say something like 'sorry it cost you more than expected to deliver but had i been given the choice i wouldnt of chosen the more expensive method' .... something like that.

it was her choice to post it that way, not yours

i wouldn't pay it. I had a similar problem as a seller when the postage for the item sold would have cost more than what i received, so i just refunded the money and appologised, but the guy really wanted the item and so paid the extra 2 pounds to send it. If she didn't want to send it this way she could have just refunded you, it doesn't look good as then as a buyer you can leave negative feedback, but i wouldn't pay 10 pounds more for postage, 17 pounds to send any item is truely rediculous. You can get things sent to America with parcel2go for less than that amount!

  • £17 to post a skirt overseas?? That seems INCREDIBLY steep! Even worse when you consider that it's MORE than what you paid for the item itself!

I wouldn't pay it, personally. Or, if you're feeling nice and want to, wait until you receive the skirt first - last thing you want is to get scammed! You'll be able to see exactly how much they paid for postage once you get it anyway.

Can you see with DHL? I thought they were a courier service so it won't have stamps on, unless it's a different service from Germany.

I'm now resolute. I won't pay more, £10 is madness.

Honestly, I give up with some sellers . The skirt arrived today via parcel force; she mis-measured the waist by 3" so it sits on neither my waist nor hips but somewhere in between. I can't be bothered to raise it with her; I guess I'll just get it altered smaller. I haven't emailed back regarding the additional money she requested, not sure what sort of feedback to leave. Positive, but not for a while?!?...

Why would you leave positive feedback if the item is not as described?
  • I wouldn't leave her positive feedback! The item is not as described, she said she'd sent it DHL when it turned up in a ParcelForce van!

    Definitely don't pay.
