Seller wants more money

  • You are lucky she sent it before she asked you for the extra.

I bought an item within UK and seller then asked for another £4 as they made a 'mistake'. I offered to meet half way, they refused and refunded what I had paid. I had to give a neg as they point blank refused to go through with the transaction.

Before you feel too responsible for paying it think of this, she did'nt pay the extra to get it to you any quicker, or to prevent from damage, she paid extra to prevent herself from a paypal claim for non reciept, so when you look at it that way, you'd be paying extra for her thinking your a potential scammer ;)

That's a very good way of looking at it!

What does she mean the 'value' of the skirt, it was £15 not £150! Why pay more for postage than the skirt's worth, it doesn't make sense to me.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

As others have said you do not have to pay it.

I understand how you feel though as I can understand how she started off with good intentions but just didn't think it through properly.

You could always offer her 50% off the amount? if you wanted to?

I am aware that you don't have to and others wouldn't but in this situation if I felt the buyer had made a genuine mistake then I would consider it :)

This is why I feel a little torn by this situation. I don't think it was intentional. £10 is a lot to me though so perhaps your suggestion of a contribution might work. I'm still so cross too.

Here is her message to me, in case I'm reading it too kindly.
I just posted the skirt by DHL registered mail to you. Unfortunately it was really expensive and far more than I expected: it cost £17!
Is there any way you could transfer GBP10 to make up for the postage difference? I would really really appreciate it!!!!
I didn't want to send the skirt unregistered, because it's really valuable. I am sure you understand!

Had she asked you first, and you had the chance to decide for yourself fine. But she cant spend your money for you. She made the decision to pay more so she did, end of.

You've had enough people telling you that you shouldn't pay any extra, but it's your money :D

You're right, thanks. I'll stop worrying about it. Do I need to respond to her message and if so, what would be an appropriate response?
