Is it just me or do many people feel tesco clubcard vouchers are too much hassle to use for clubcard offers?

My wife did use some for a watch at Goldsmiths (before they raised the minimum spend for using vouchers to £200) but found that she was not much better off than she would have been if she she had bought one of their sale watches without vouchers.

I wanted to use some for travelling on a ferry but found I had to book weeks in advance and could not use any of the ferry companies promotion fares which were much cheaper than the standard fare.

Am considering using our current vouchers (over £30) in the shop. Any views?

If you sell them on Ebay you'll probably get double the face value. I think you need to swat up on cc points.

I've not ever shopped on line for groceries. However Tesco.com have sent me a personalised voucher for 1000 clubcard points for first grocery order of £50 or more.
Is it worth doing once? I probably won't use online delivery again.
Thought I could use it towards a Eurotunnel deal.
    Ideas?
  • I find the deals easy to redeem. Normally on magazine subscriptions, and restaurant vouchers.

Hi, yes definitely! Especially if you think it's earning you £40 in deals, well £35, by the time you pay the £5 delivery charge.

I used mine just before Xmas and then got sent another one in my Healthy Living Mail Out, so they obviously want to encourage me again - fine by me!

Also it's very straightforward, if a little time-consuming the first time. A friend who used one told me they only actually spent £41 and the points voucher was accepted.

If you buy 3 4 2 or bogof, they count the value of the multiple items before the discount, which helps boost your tally too!

    Hi,
Beware of wombling with barcode receipts.
If you have more than one clubcard you can womble 2 receipts per visit for any kind of purchase as long as they are less than 2 weeks old.
DO NOT USE THE SAME CLUBCARD FOR YOUR SHOPPING IN STORE AT THAT VISIT.
That is how the Tesco software picks up wombling.
Also take a look at the clubcard number on your key fob - that will be different from the initial card you have used.

Hi, not quite sure I follow this. Surely if you were getting points added from previous receipts then it'd be normal behaviour to get them added on, when you go to do your next shop?

Or do you mean if they are dated the same day it's a bit too obvious?

There are lots of trackers on the Tesco software, also it is only at the stores decression that they honour receipts. Systems monitor the frequency of manually added points to any card, they monitor receipts which are paid by card and get the clubcard points added to them, to see who the card holder is in relation to the clubcard holder details.

Not sure if this is widely known or not.

From today Tesco have the 100 & 150 extra point deals on the Johnsons products again.

Goto your local store to see the yellow ticket for details or log into your tesco account online and search for "johnsons" in the groceries section.

    16/01/2008 until 12/02/2008

I've just checked this online and it looks like only two items are included in this and they are £2.49 and £2.60 so it'll cost you more than you'll get back in deals. Thanks for the heads up though, shame it's not on other stuff eh?
