B... explain how it pays to use tesco home delivery to gain more points when you get charged for the delivery?

I buy groceries from tesco.com every 4 or 5 weeks, but I hardly ever pay for delivery. I use e vouchers from mailings, usually they are 5 pounds off if you spend 50.00, so if you have a delivery on one of the cheaper days the 5 pounds voucher will cover it. Similar vouchers can be found on their website if you log on to 'accounts and policies' and also on some of there own brand products - I have remembered and used the code from the outside of tescos own cereals, without even buying the cereal. Some of these vouchers are for points rather than cash - so you have to wait longer for the reward - but you sound like you would prefer the points.
On 2 occasions they have emailed me with a 5 pound off e voucher just because they noticed I had not used them for a while.

C.... is it worth getting the new tesco credit card that pays more points and ensuring it gets paid of straight away.

Not as good as it used to be. They are changing the amount of points they give on the credit card it was 1 point for 2.00 pounds spent, now is 1 for 4.00.
It depends on how much you spend each month and how strict you are with using credit cards and clearing them each month. Int rate is not the best. Martin would probably recommend a diff card with better cashback. If you got cash back on a different card would you still use it for your holiday fund?

    yes

I have 120.00 in vouchers, so 480 in deals, once I have sorted out my breakdown cover the rest will be in my holiday fund so I think it will be worth it:)

Really trying to boost my points, (and save some money!), finally got the OH to consider changing from british gas.

Can anyone tell me any good / bad stories on the energy service through powergen / tesco.

By my calculations I should save £140 a year including the points I will earn. (to be spent on deals of course!)

I swapped because it came out a better deal on uswitch and then I found out about the extra points so double bonus. Powergen has been fine for me never had a problem with them in about a year or so.

why don't they put the points on your card automatically like they do with the food? I'm glad I found out about this, but if i send the receipts off i won't have them as proof of purchase ---or do you just cut off the barcode part?

There are several posts on the discount forum giving you up to 1000 extra points for shopping online.

    Also check https://www.tescovouchercodes.blogspot.com or https://www.hotukdeals.com
    for tesco codes.

I got 9000 last 1/4, I bought both groceries and wine. I only use the internet to shop if I get the points (or a good discount).

We are saving for some kitchen appliances from MFI, £150 so far (worth £600).

In fact I think I'll check for some codes now!!! Problem is it becomes a bit addicitive when you want something asap!! My mums never had so many flowers!!
ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷

Hannah2082 - the print cartridge recycling envelopes usually hang off one of the shelf edges in store along the aisle where you get the printer cartridges from. At least they do in our store. :D

By the way does anyone know if you have to have a standing order set up for clubcard plus? Can you credit money to your account at customer services even if you don't have the standing order set up?

    Cheers

.... anytips to start me of

    Thanks in advance.

:o I listed some tips on accumulating points this week on this thread:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=2341556#post2341556

Since 1st May I have built up £175 worth of vouchers (£700 in deals already!) just by following these tips in store.

I must admit I feel a little bit of a twit when I pick up receipts outside and people see me. In fact sometimes when I have 10 mins to spare before collecting my kids from an evening club, I now drive to Tesco first. Sometimes I'll actually go in (to get some points from previous days added!) but often I'll just park up and wander towards other shops and back again, checking out trolleys and the ground for barcoded receipts and till-spit extra points slips. OMG this is sad but I'm hoping for a super holiday too! :D

Not sure if it's compulsory, but in any case you could setup a DD for say £20 then top at CS when you want.
