Just been to Tesco and they have Double points from today until Sunday. Don't know if this is nationwide. Saw it at the big Southampton (Bursledon) store.

No, you have to convert them to a specific deal, you can renew the deal vouchers if they are approaching their expiry date. I think, but not sure, some people 'bank' their points but I may be getting this confused.

Umm - where am I being irate?

Which part of 'up to you though' is unclear?

It's about education - letting other MSErs know of the potential consequences of Wombling.

Hope that my trying to help has not upset you too much.

Chill out Duder. I wasn't referring to you... just read other discussions where things have got heated that's all.

I'm not upset at all, not really that interested, just stumbled upon the thread and was curious.:p

It is curious to me that people have posted lots of posts about collecting receipts in the car park and going in claiming them to be their sons/husbands/wifes who forgets to use the clubcard (so are lying) and yet the posts remains on the board by the moderators. This to me is getting points fraudulently because you are claiming something you aren't entitled to so surely it is fraud because you didn't make the purchase or linked to the person that did. The problem is those who do it (''wombling'') can't see that as they say they are just get points others would get. Thing is the points are there as an incentive and clearly they don't work on 100% take-up so claiming points you wouldn't have had and aren't yours and weren't being claimed anyway is fraud. Tesco withdraw your card if they find you have done this so whatever people think it is not viewed sympathetically by Tesco. Why do you think that is? Because it is fraud.

However posts on other boards that Asda are accepting clubcard vouchers led to some (inc me) saying you could spend them on deals online then take them into Asda and get their value again. This doesn't defraud Tesco or Asda (because Asda aren't claiming them back from Tesco, and Tesco are accepting them in accordance with the terms of their offer....as are Asda!) it is just playing the system, and yet the mods have posted terse messages about these posts and removed them. I simply can't understand this, it makes no sense to me. Does anyone else agree with me that some of the mods activities are a little bewildering in their inconsistencyon this issue?

Can anyone please tell me the difference betwene the old style Tesco CC and the new ones? Is it a different rate of clubcard points on spending outside of Tesco.

I've had the one with a sunflower on for years and wondered if it was the best one for maximising clubcard points!

Hi, the vouchers you get every 3 months from Tesco last for 2 years if you convert them into deals the deals vouchers last for 6 months. However if you have either that are going out of date Tesco will renew them.

I am saving for a holiday now too, last quarter I had £700 worth of deals and already have £600 worth in points towards the May vouchers. So in the last 4 months I have gained £1300 of deals towards my holiday - look at https://www.paidtoshop.co.uk for ideas how to gain the most points.
  • Is it worth signing up to the Tesco Credit Card? I've never had a CC but DH was thinking of getting one so wondered if this would be a good one to get, what points do you get on that?
