  • My mortgage is due up in October, so it's an option for me . . . BUT I don't think they are (at the moment) very competitive! x

Most items i buy are online using the airmiles site, to gain miles, and everything from groceries to fuel to buying anything instore is done in tescos so i can convert the points into miles, 60 for £2-50. Is this the best way to collect airmiles or is there any other way i could collect them quicker? thanks in advance
  • Just had an email from Airmiles offering me to join something called e-rewards, it's like a survey site. Have joined and just by answering a few questions, I've already got 300 reward points, but you need 2000 points to get 50 airmiles! By the sounds of it though, I think you get regular surveys and considering its free airmiles, must be good. Said on the site, that you have to have been offered this deal via 'Airmiles Mermbership', so I would imagine anyone who has an online account with Airmiles will be offered this via email too.

I don't think you can as to my knowledge you can no longer get the paper miles unless you are buying them from Ebay. Silly question, but why would you want to do this anyway?? Just being nosy, but feel free to tell me to get lost!

If you did not want your airmiles the best place to get rid of them would be ebay, i think you would get the best price on ebay.

My partner got offered it but I did not ;-( - I think it goes off how many airmiles you have with them i.e the more you have the less chance you getting this email - so in true fashion we have not merged our accounts yet so - I filled in the first questionare so we got 50 airmiles free then I cut and copied the link (it lets you register any airmiles account number) so i got my 50 airmiles as well - 100 airmiles for 5 min filling in stupid questions...not bad the chances of getting 2000 points just for 50 airmiles is slim as I joined this website for Hilton Points last year and most questionares you get 5 -15 points - so alot of work - I'm just sticking at the free 100 miles.

There is loads of routes to free flights it just hunting them down - Tesco's has been brill for us this year - we've pulled out all the stops to get points - all the decent ones are on the tesco thread on here. On line shopping via Airmiles is really good. I have bought the Christmas Present early for a change this year. Hunt down the ones which do 1 airmile for £2 spent.

AMEX open an account (two accounts if there is two of you in one house with different airmiles accounts) and get 3000 airmiles. We swapped our gas and electric and got 650 miles + 25 1/4 ( it's 300 airmiles now I think).

Open an account with Loyds TSB and use their travel service to book your holiday - 1 airmile for £1 spent... that is the best going as you can clock up loads.

We bought a kitchen from Homebase, open a free membership and when you spend get them to swipe the card...remember if its a big purchase slice the transaction so you max the points you get.. they delivered our kitchen in one go but in three orders! lol and got miles more airmiles for doing it.

I mentioned Tesco, when you need something always wait for the new cat to come out with x3 points as the introduction then shop.
