I regularly receive approx 80.00 per quarter in Tesco Clubcard vouchers. We have a Tesco platinum credit card and put all our grocery shopping from Tesco's on it and any other shopping always goes on our credit card. . Instead of using our debit card we use our credit card, then clear the balance each month. It's just a matter of making your credit card work for you.
This is also what we do (although we don't spend as much as lullybubs)
We average about £50 in voucher per quarter.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Lot of people managed to get them credited back to their account over the phone once there were due to expire. But it's up to the discretion of Tesco.
If that fails I would probably take the highest voucher you've got (let's say £10) and order £10 to restaurant which is only £2.50 voucher and they will credit the rest back to your account..
In the past I had a couple of years worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers that had expired due to non use re-issued with no trouble so I just stuck them all in a drawer again along with newer vouchers as I was collecting them towards something like a ferry crossing to Ireland (something that the cash fares on are always stupidly expensive). As I am only a one person household I only used to get about £17 a year of vouchers at the old 1% rate so the four times Clubcard deals and saving up vouchers toward them seemed particularly attractive.
So I checked them recently and found well over two years worth had expired and contacted Tesco customer services to get them re-issued but they adamantly refused to re-issue all but the last quarters worth and lied by claiming their computer systems did not back any further than two and a half years.
All the time Tesco try to con you on their Deals by their petrol vouchers only lasting three weeks and only being valid at superstore petrol stations when they are offering a fully manned service and all their stupid money off bread etc vouchers force you to remember to bring the vouchers to store when you next shop instead of being automatically applied if you shop and buy the relevant products during the advertised promotional period.
Yes you can go through all these handsprings to try and keep your vouchers live if you want but underlyingly what Tescos gives in vouchers with one hand it constantly tries to take away with the other. For instance why did it cancel auto-conversion to Air Miles and enforce the two year Points voucher expiry rule far more strictly. Obviously because they weren't managing to defraud enough customers out of being able to use their accumulated Clubcard points and had been taking lessons from Michael O'Leary.:mad:0 -
NGM - Sorry, but I cannot see the problem with keeping up with the expiry date of your vouchers....
As for coupons - I have them in my purse all the time, it's not like I get hundreds (unfortunately) and it doesn't make any difference whether I have them there or not. It doesn't weigh anything.
You obviously have it in for Tesco, you haven't stop moaning yet (even about some really stupid things) so stop shopping there and chill out.0 -

Suppose you are a single person living on your own. It takes a long time to save enough vouchers for a ferry crossing to Ireland. You put them in the drawer used to the vouchers being automatically re-issued if ever needed because they expire. You then get them out one day and find they have expired. You contact Tesco and they now refuse to re-issue them. Ditto when you want to book a ferry you first you also have to exchange these vouchers for other vouchers and can't use Clubcard vouchers directly. Why was direct AirMile conversion eliminated I wonder? Presumably only because it meant not enough Tesco Clubcard vouchers went to waste. As for coupons - I have them in my purse all the time, it's not like I get hundreds (unfortunately) and it doesn't make any difference whether I have them there or not. You appear to be a flag waving Tesco company loyalist - perhaps you even work for them. I actually wouldn't want to have my only credit card as one that says Tescos because its such an incredibly naff brand. At least the Lloyds Amex Duo card has relatively sophisticated and smart product branding.0 -
NGM - no, I don't work for Tesco:rotfl:
I have to say that yes, Sainsburys is better in a way you can just swipe your points as a deduction from shopping, but Nectar is one of the worst loyalty schemes on the planet. And to get extra points you still have to get mailing with coupons.
I have just about every loyalty card going, simply because I cannot see why not - I have to shop there, why not get something back.
To accuse me of working for them just because I cannot see what you are constantly moaning about:rotfl::rotfl:Find that funny. All it takes to stop vouchers expiring is to have a look whether any are expiring each time you are adding new ones into the draw.
Don't take this as an argument, but seriously moan about something you can change is silly.0 -

Also wouldn't it be worth using some of the Air Miles for things like Eurotunnel car crossings of the channel or theme park admissions etc at the four times redemption rate rather than all at the only two times promotional Air Miles conversion rate?
Think you have a lot to learn in how to earn extra tesco points!! Try website paidtoshop and all will become clear. Its referred to quite a lot on the tesco thread on here I believe. Doesn't just concentrate on tesco, however all the glitches/deals/extra points are all on there.
The Christmas one was a great one (although unfortunately I didn't partake and kicked myself later!!). There has also been recent promotions for dongles with 1000 extra points (think cheapest was under £20) and tesco mobile phones with 1000 extra points (cheapest was £14.97 and I currently have 6 sitting in my kitchen waiting for me to get round to selling them).
A lot of the glitches have stopped, but you can still earn a healthy amount of points without too much outlay.0 -

It strikes me there is a large time cost in carrying out these activities for a very low hourly rate of pay and the so called reward in the shape or more Air Miles etc is ultimately of questionable value as the redemption value of these miles is continually watered down by BA..........0 -

They confirmed that I have never converted Airmiles before, but as I had been given the 80 miles rate, they had to check if I would still get the double miles. They rang me back within an hour and confirmed that I will get double miles credited at the 80 mile rate! Just checked back and the double miles have already been added - someone's smiling down on me today! Not sure what I've done to deserve that, but it's all swings and roundabouts I guess...
