Oh!!!! Are you sure? I misread it! I thought it was £1500 each month for 3 months. In fact I thought someone on this thread said they paid in £4500 in one go to cover it. I'm confused now!!

Definitely £1500 - I did it in one transaction last month and have had the extra 500 miles added to my Airmiles account.

I paid £5,000 into mine and transferred out £4,999.99 the next day, but only because I had £5,000 to remove from a Tesco savings account due to the Clubcard bonus expiry date passing.

    Hi,

Thank you all posters on this thread. I have got some really good ideas from here and have just signed up to airmiles and the loyds card (fingers crossed I get this).

My question is about applying for the tesco clubcard credit card as well since I shop at tesco and this will boost my airmiles. Is there any effect on your credit rating / search history if you apply for 2 credit cards in one week?

    Thanks

By the way I work this out it will still be beneficial to use your lloyds card rather than your tesco credit card.

I setup an account to get the 750 airmiles (transfered £1.5k in on the 2nd of Feb) and i am going to take it out and put it back again, never got any airmiles so i phoned them yesterday.

I hope i get the first 500 and then i will transfer the money out and in again until i get the other 250 miles. BTW do the miles come in the form of a voucher or just get added to your account?

The Airmiles from the Lloyds TSB offer go direct into your Airmiles account. Mine arrived within a few days.

Also, where is better to collect miles for petrol? Through Shell or through Tesco using Clubcard?

Edit: This information is incorrect - see below for correction

The best place to collect Airmiles for petrol is Shell - if you pay with a Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo AMEX credit card (not the MasterCard one). You should also use the Shell Drivers Club loyalty card after changing the reward to Airmiles.

Using a Tesco Clubcard Credit Card at a Tesco petrol station comes a close second, but involves slightly more work to manually convert Tesco Clubcard points into Airmiles.

If you are not at a Shell or Tesco Petrol station, then it is better to use the Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo AMEX card (again, not the MasterCard one).
