Last year i saw a woman return 3 OOTW, she said - oh ive lost my receipt can i have a gift card.

She had bought the offers of the week the pevios week when they were half price and 342, she waited till the offer was over, then took them back. As she didnt have a receipt the store credited her with 2 x full price.

I was stood there about to scream at her, cos it was the a big black bag that i wanted but couldnt get my hands on, but now i would have to pay full price cos she nabbed 3 knowing she didnt want them but would be returning them for profit.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that is just waaay fraudulent.

Stories like that make me so  Like most people I love getting a bargain, but there is a line i just would not cross. Surely your conscience would prevent you enjoying your "profit".

Tara, I know your OP wasn't along those lines, and it definitely wasn't bordering on being fraudulent imo. The problem I have with it though is if too many people do this with popular offers then Boots will just issue a blanket policy refusing all dot com refunds in store in future. And even worse, some peeps might rely on this as being foolproof, pop along a few days after the offer starts and end up with no S & G set at all:eek:

Bootsing's never simple though is it:rolleyes::rotfl:

i really need this for my mums birthday, not gonna see her till xmas eve so she will get all her prezzies then. if i ordered online when would i get it? Dunno weather to go instore or online? HELP!!!

No idea maria tbh. You could pay for next day delivery to guarantee it, or take your chance with normal delivery. It normally gives you a delivery estimate at checkout, so you could decide before proceeding if you thought it was cutting it too close.

I totally agree about that woman, that is just so wrong and would make me very cross too.

Good point on my OP as well, might go along and delete post #1 just in case...

But what you are suggesting isnt right either....Some people may not have the £50 now to buy it and will wait until it is a better price, but if they are all sold because of people who do your idea there are at a disadvantage. If you want it that bad pay full price for it or wait til it is OOTW and get it cheaper...This could be done for everything, there will be nothing for the sales at this rate if people use this plan:rolleyes:

Tara that just my opinion though. I see nothing wrong in you posting it, i'm just pointing out the potential pitfalls as it will work for some, but may not for others. As long as peeps know that its up to them to decide what to do;)

I think its a slight exageration to suggest that:rolleyes: Not everyone will want to/ be able to afford to pay out £50 initially, and many peeps will already be buying these sets at full price anyway not knowing an offer is in the pepeline. Not everyone is an MSE'r you know;)

  • There's no way I could return anything, without a receipt, to any of the branches I visit, and get a gift card. They are all adamant now that you exchange for other goods there and then. If you have a receipt, they'll refund your cash/points/credit card.

A friend had a birthday last month, and received an Elle Bag (not from me!), which she didn't want.

She didn't have a receipt, and the green parcel label had been peeled off, but she didn't know if it had cost £40, £26, £20, bought individually, or as part of a 3 for 2 set.

And that's where the problems started. The SA said it was currently £26, but it might have been the "free" article, if it was on 3 for 2, so she couldn't do anything.

Could Boots SAs who read this thread, advise what she can do please? I suggested going back, speaking to the Manager, and asking if she could exchange it for another "Green Label 3 for 2" item, worth about £26, like, for instance the No 7 Pink Pleated Bag set.

It's a hard life. being a Boots Shopper!

    xx
