My eldest girls were encouraged to from beginning of high school at 11.

10yo has already mentioned it, but i'm not wanting to go ahead with it for her until she hits high school in September 2010.....or am I being unreasonable?

Luckily I have new partner who is a bit more help with female things than myself, although I have tried over the past few years. It's not quite the same asking your Dad though, even though we are open on everything. It's a bit of a godsend having an adult female helping me, though 16yo is very helpful to her younger siblings.
    Bless you :)

She's lucky to have a dad who cares believe me, even my step dad avoids all girly things whenever possible, he wouldn't have a clue! I see nothing wrong with waiting till high school (providing she doesn't *need* one i.e is developing now).

just read your sig: 7 girls??? You deserve a medal! (you must never get near the bathroom, especially once a month!!)

Well, i've been a single parent for over 3 years, some would say longer consider how their two mothers showed little interest when still here, so i've had to be mum as well as dad. Like I said before, we are open about everything - sex, boys, drugs, smoking, drinking - the lot, but sometimes a female is needed in cases like Bra's, so 16yo has helped her sisters down the last few years and now my new partner is a big help in female things. They are still getting used to her and still come to me for lots of things with the trust we have built up.

10yo is developing. I mean naturally I don't see her topless like when she was much younger, but it's noticeable through her clothes, but not majorly just yet. I'm unsure as to whether I should get her fitted. OH thinks maybe we should think about it as it may cause her discomfort and her clothes may rub?

I sometimes get the bathroom - we have two as it's two houses turned into one, but even then it can be tough. When they are at school I get to take my time :rotfl: It's just the holidays I smell ;):rotfl:

More than clothes rubbing I'd be concerned about support. Its not going to be a health risk, but their vanity may be grateful later if they get support as soon as they need it.

Maybe we'll take her in to be measured and fitted then.

I don't want her suffering long term. She's developed a bit earlier in this area than her sisters.
  • My eldest is 12 and about 6 months ago, I noticed that she was starting to show. I wasn't convinced she needed a bra, but took her to M&S for advice. The wee lamb was measured at 30AA!

The lady there was extremely helpful and sensitive to my daughter's extreme embarrassment.

think i was 10/11, and it was a 28aa? not sure lol, but remember it bugging me soooooo much i hated wearing it at first
  • I told my mum when it was time.
I was in year 7 .. my first week at big school and in p.e.
We were doing gymnastics and had to come up with some sort of routine, after we practised we had to watch each group in turn. My friend at the time had to be turned upside down.. of course her top flew towards her face therefore revealing everything.
She wasn't wearing a bra either.

I know it didn't happen to me.. but i decided i would like one soon after.
Mum took me to Debenhams and we got one
