She just wants ex to be part of the baby's life as she had her dad and couldn't imagine what it would be like for her baby not to have one. Me, sister and brother didn't have our dad from an early age and it didn't give us much bother; well to be honest I had a problem but saw him years after as XH tracked him down about 12 years ago, saw him about 6 times in that year, was really cross with myself as I cried in front of him and the upshot was he rang me on xmas eve and said "I know you'll be busy tomorrow with everyone round so happy xmas and will ring in the new year". Did he; did he f£ck, though to be fair he never said which new year!! LOL. Am over him now. My neices haven't seen their dad since they were 1 and 2 respectively (tw£tface we call him; sis and I) and it hasn't done them any harm, the are well rounded kids, right smashers they are and they know who exactly loves them.
His dad (DD2 EX) went through this last year with his DD and they are living with him and he loves his grandson and our DD2 thinks he should have the same opportunity with this one.
I'm not offended by what you said; just wanted to clarify the situation; it's not me/us who's telling her to go and see his dad; she feels she needs to. So what can I do? She asked DS to take her and he said yes, the ex's sister knows about this and agrees with DD2
Ooh she doesn't want money of him either, just thinks he has a right to know about his grandchild. Anyway she has told me tonight that he says he's told him, his sister is still saying otherwise and is livid with him for lying to DD2 again. We as a family will help to support her no matter what
And I'd rather have DS go with her than her go on her own
I understand what she means about wanting her baby to have a dad.. there is so much less stigma attached to not having one around now though which is good for the child. Maybe the sister is stirring a little poop with a big wooden spoon? DD will have to take that as the truth from XBF and move on I think.. It is down to his dad then to make some gesture or effort if he wants to be part of baby's life.
Thank you for not taking offence none was intended but that is so hard to get across in a faceless post.
She needs to be thinking about herself and her future now rather than concerning herself with people she can live without.
DS1, gf and Jacob just gone home.. after 5 hours!! Jacob constantly makes a horrible whinging noise, I think I would have strangled mine if they had done that lol. Is it AnWsMum that sells stuff on ebay?
When I get my act together I do!Yes... cellophane & ribbons and stuff I seem to remember...
I haven't got any cellophane at the moment but do have bows, 2inch wide ribbon and curling ribbon, along with metallic confetti, birthday candles (the number ones and some really thin ones, think they are sparkler ones) and mini bubbles in champagne bottles/wedding cakes/champagne glasses.
Phew! If anyone want's anything let me know and I'll send some pics. I need to sort ebay next year, will be a main challenge for me (have let things drift there since DH's inquest)
Well went shopping with Mum to Sainsbugs and other places at T'Peaks this morning, didn't get home til 2pm  most gaps plugged now though.
We got the tree out of the loft and have been sorting and decorating that since SW's 3 & % got home from school. It looks fabthey have done a great job and both put the fairy on the top (DH always used to do it with Miss A, W was too small at the time) Had damp eyes some of the time. Put some more blue LED lights up outside and put a rope light round the edge of the floor in the kitchen!!!
Just about to get a stella to celebrate.
ETA Got a battery for the pedometer, since I put it in when we got home I have done 5262 steps so pretty pleased with that.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

Evening
Have been really busy today, done the bare essentials though did manage a biggish supermarket shop. Dont know why I thought Id get much done this week seeing as its Nativity week at school ....havent caught up the thread yet, hope everyone ok today.
DS did 2 performances today, we went to this afternoon's. I found it very emotional (nothing new there then, it always brings a tear to my eye) but more so than usual because he had been going to be a wise man but would have been in the spotlight and they thought he wasnt coping well so changed his role to a very brief one. He was perfectly happy but it really upset me for him that there are lots of things he cant cope with emotionally. He says he is too nervous to do another one tomorrow if we arent there to watch so I said I'd try and get another ticket, and Im sure if I just hang around they will let me sneak in last minute providing the hall is not too full. It will mean a lot to him.
Got DD1's in the afternoon as well so I will be a bit nativitied out by then.
Anyway we managed to get a few more presents wrapped and Father Christmas letters written. I wanted to share with you what DS put in his, he is so sweet, I am so proud of him:
"Dear Santa,
Please may I have a big rollercoaster Indiana Jones lego model thingy.
And a big bag of sweets to share.
I have been quite a good boy this year.
I know it is a hard job for you but I only want two presents for Christmas.
So Happy Christmas.
Love from Master D."

I think it will have given those that were something to gossip about for weeks to come... on the way home in the car I whispered to OH this was one of those moments noone will forget and when they are both in their 60's and I am a dotty old woman of 22 we will look back and laugh...
