Afternoon all,
I'm starting to lag a little now after my early start. Dinner was beautiful the beef fell apart as it was carved (well with 9 hours in the slow cooker i'm not suprised lol) I got carried away with using up the veg in the fridge and ended up cooking, parsnips, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, green beans and brussels!, there wasn't much room left on the plates.
Have bought some bread flour and am thinking of having a go at making some rolls, but am swaying to waiting until tomorrow now.
Have still got to sort out my weeks meal plan so shall have a go at that in a minute.
All in all it's been a busy day and feels like it's around 9pm i keep getting a shock when i look at the clock .
Hugs to all that need them xx

Pink, thank you so much for the recipe link. Hope MIL continues to improve.
Xmas decs up, all washing done but no ironing had to pop out to get a topper for the tree but had no luck so that was time wasted.
Had a mishap in that I put my remoska lid down on my glass worktop saver as normal but forgot to turn it off, it really has burnt my worktop  actually its burnt two that were joined togther, and they are the ones with the sink & cooker hob on so loads of cutting involved. This means another claim on the insurance, we havn't claimed for over 7 years then 2 in the same week. Am still chasing the police to find out if the car that hit our garage is insured. I know they are very busy but I just wish they would call back.
On a good note popped along the the Xmas fayre and my favourite sausage man was there, bought 2 packs of sausages and 2 sausagemeat so this week will be making sausage rolls - thanks again Pink, and stuffing balls for Xmas dinner. Going to have a good look at the threads on here later this week to see what other bits for Xmas dinner can be preprepared.0 -
Evening all
I'm just back from my weekend in Birmingham. I went up with 2 friends and we went to the Clothes Show in the NEC yesterday. It was really good dayWe got lots of freebies, saw a few minor celebs, and the fashion show was amazing! After the show we headed to our Travelodge, put on our pjs and ordered in pizza. Then ate pizza whilst watching Strictly/X Factor/Strictly
I'm on Team Cola so I was so happy that Chris&Ola got through to next week without having to do the dance off!
Today we headed to the Bullring for a spot of shopping. It wasn't too manic :rotfl:. I got a new handbag and a faux fur wrap for this wedding I'm off to in Feb, both from Debenhams so had 20% off. Not sure if I'm keeping wrap yet, gotta try it with my dress. Then I met up with a friend who I met at Camp America last year who is at uni in Birmingham :jit was lovely to see her. We all went for lunch and talked non-stop! Then we went to the German Market, I got some of the yummy nuts, sooo morish! Fianlly we hit Selfridges for Krispy Kreme donuts and then headed home. So my waistline has certainly expanded this weekend :rotfl:!
Got home half hour ago, luckily realised X Factor was on earlier than normal. I microwaved a jacket spud and had some leftover veggie chilli from friday in the fridge so had that on it with cheese and sour cream - yum.
I'm rather tired so think I'll just catch up on emails and then have early night.
12 sleeps til I fly to New Zealand
Have a good evening all

Ruby, any news on the move?
Hi Pink, nice to see you posting, no news yet but should hear tomorrow, with any luck it will be before Xmas, fingers crossed, I hope your MIL is ok xx
Made a huge pot of lentil soup today, and instead of cooking the roast chicken, we all had some for tea (including dd who has never liked soup :T) we had it with crusty bread, and I cut small chunks of brie off and put then in the soup so that they just started to melt on the bread , it was delish, and a cheap meal, will do the chook for tomorrow.
Got two loads of washing dry on the line, and made a lemon drizzle cake and 12 lemon drizzle cup cakes.
Lamewolf, I hope you are ok, how did you get on last night ???
Have good evenings all xx0 -

Thanks for all the supportive comments regarding my weight loss. Several people have asked for tips etc, you must be mentally ready to do it, and be doing it for yourself and not to please other people. I just got to the point where I knew I didn't want to be fat anymore and wanted to do something about it. I haven't followed any of the big weight loss programmes am just doing it on my own. I've cut out all the crap, eat 3 proper meals a day and if I want/need a snack in between meals then I have fresh fruit or a diet yogurt, no food or drink is banned, if I really want something I have it, enjoy it, draw a line under it and move on. I don't feel pressurized at all and don't actually feel like I'm dieting - more that I have made some lifestyle changes. I make better food choices now. That's all the advice I can give really, just being really sensible etc - sounds a bit boring but it does work and on the odd occasions now I've had rather a lot to eat or drink it really makes me feel unwell the day after - so now I know why I felt so bad all of the time when I was eating/drinking way too much all the time! Having said all of that we've been away to stay with friends this week, and have eaten much more than is now my normal intake and drank rather a lot of alcohol - but we don't see this friends that often so won't be a regular thing. Had a girly day shopping Saturday which was lovely and made real headway with the Christmas shopping so not that many more presents to buy - so now feeling much better about Xmas only being a few weeks away! Have a busy week, dad in hospital on Tuesday and DS2 birthday on Wednesday, washing machine engineer coming on Thursday (really hope he can do something with the WM as haven't got the funds for a new one at the moment!). OH's nan is now out of hospital after her big cancer op and is doing very well considering she's 83/84 years old, so she's now recovering at home.
Have to go now, keep safe and well, hugs to those that need them.
