Morning Diva,
The insomnia doesn't really bother me too much, with having 4 children in the house i class the early mornings as my sanity saving time, a few hours of peace and quiet before all hell breaks loose :rotfl:
I love your quote of the day, when we were little my parents had a tree that must have been 3ft tall at the most and it sat on a table to make it look bigger! to us it was the best thing since sliced bread.
My christmas tree looked beautiful the night we put it up but now it is a rescue and repair job every morning i get up due to Marley our 4 month old british blue who climbs it and knocks baubles off at every given chance.
My thoughts are still with Tristan and his family, i hope he can get some fluids down him today. xx
I will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!
Total £560 -
Morning peeps
lots of early birds around this morning, i`m jealous of everyone thats cooking because my cooker is still in the roomi have to find room in here for the fridge and freezer later so thats going to be fun.
The washing machine is now on and the dishwasher too - i need to unplumb these and remove all the pipes later so i`m getting everything out of the way really early, DH is home with me today so we shall be starting the blitz of the upstairs, last night when i opened the wardrobe door the top hanging rail had broken and all he clothes are now in a heap resting on the bottom hanging rail, hope it manages with the extra weight as i now need to go out and fetch the extra bits and pieces to fix that my day will be extremely busy.
I also have wine to filter before i lose the kitchen completely for a few days and sausages to precook in the remoska - need to check on this actually as i`m making slowcooker casserole with them and they may just be able to go in as they are.
Various other bits and bobs will disappear today as i`ve listed more on freecycle so all in all if i get another chance to sit down it will be a miracle
ZippyChick- Your breakfast sounds lovely, i could eat that right now, felt so carp last night that i didn`t bother with any tea. I did manage a bar of choccie and a brandy so thats why i`ve woken up starving.
Nopot2pin - Welcome :hello:
Heavenleigh - I have to keep a close eye on our little black cat once the tree is up, she turns into super varmint and is always up to something. The baubles will all be off and she will bat them around the floor, she climbs the tree and bites the branches. When she`s being good she just likes to lie nderneath it with all the lights on around her.:rotfl:
The breadmaker has just beeped so i`m off to take the loaf out.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone, the rain is so loud here hitting the windows that i`m expecting a river to be running past the house.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning everyone.
2nd page...... Wet night lots of wind and not too pleasant. I did what I expected and spent some cash yesterday. I had a cash back award from Amex, so bought a new coast and gloves for my holiday. It's -13 there today... So at least it did not get gobbled up in bills.
Bought 5 bottles of wine and a bottle of port for £13 in Sainsbury. Thanks to the 25% off 6 bottles and £7.50 Nectar redemption.
Church today and then the pastor over for supper. Log fire and later some top gear. Nice.
Have a warm one....NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning all
Hugs to Pen Pin
Blow Tris a kiss from me Dive
Welcome Pammy & Nopot2pin, love the name, lol
-13, brrr N9eve, glad you bought new gloves & coat.
I made Fish pie & tons of lentil soup yesterday, DD is popping in at 10ish to collect them, she works too hard & is losing weight again.
Other DD phoned and asked to 'borrow' £30, she has a direct debit going out earlier than she expected so I did an online transfer for her to save her getting any bank charges, she's coming round with the cash, which was in her hubbys account, later today. We bank at the same bank & an online transfer takes 2 hours.
DS is coming over for dinner today, he is still suffering with his broken ribs, he worked all day yesterday & is working this morning as they are short staffed at the garage where he works. At least if he comes over I know he's eaten one decent meal.
I shall make some banana bread & mince pies this morning so all the kids can take some home with them.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

It's raining in Oxfordshire (again ).
DD has hockey practice this morning, then we will be putting the deccies up this afternoon

Breakfast will be toast
Lunch will be hot dogs
Dinner: Roast lamb, roast potatoes, veg etc
Need to finish off 2 scarves I'm knitting for some colleagues at work, wash my make up brushes and write my Christmas cards today.

N9eve sorry but had to giggle at your post, the thought of a pastor and Jeremy Clarkson in the same sentence tickled me for some reason :rotfl:. Love the fact you have a log fire by the way x
Sunny, sounds like you have a hectic day ahead, hope you get things sorted and the talk of freshly baked bread is making me hungry....i really must buy a breadmaker when i can justify the price of one!
Nopot, Lentil soup sounds fantastic, i cant remember the last time i had it, infact it was probably when i was younger because i dont think i have ever made it, another to add to my list of things to make/do xxI will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight,
Walking in a winter wonderland :xmassmile
Morning
In my calendar - an angel :snow_grin
The wedding was actually goodStill wish I hadn't gone though. The groom didn't have a clue who I was, and the bride seemed to recognise me but couldn't quite place where she'd seen me before  At the end of the service (the bit where they walk up the aisle together), I nearly jumped out of my skin - there was a loud noise behind me (we were at the back). During the service, someone had snuck in with two blowy machines and they blew big confetti butterflies up into the air - it 'snowed' all over the church. Fab idea
Mr tru was most excited to see his gorgeous, glamorous, single ex. Wouldn't normally bother me, but my out-laws spent YEARS telling me how wonderful she was, and FIL said (in not so many words) that he always wanted the two of them together. So I was a bit put out. And tonight, we're going to another of his exes for a meal. At least she's married with kids. Dunno if you remember all my visits to the doc earlier this year, but one of the things I had to do was sort out when I eat. I have to eat my largest meal in the middle of the day, then for tea I have something small like a bowl of cereal or some fruit. I didn't realise we were going for a meal, I thought it was just a drink. She's got the food in now so I can't cancel. I'm going to be bloated for days and tonight I'll have serious heartburn when I go to bed. Mr tru thinks I'm back to normal now (which I am if I follow doctor's orders) so I can just do anything at any time. Well I can't, and it's all too much
OSiness today - not much. The chickens need cleaning out and I'll check the veg - make sure the sprout stalks are still upright lol, and maybe pick some spinach.Bulletproof0 -
Morning - it's my bi-annual post! I do read every day although still don't post very often.
Just wanted to say 'thanks' for all the advice about things to make for Christmas presents. Despite being not keen on Christmas and all the nonsensical present buying, giving and then hiding away, from this thread I have found some perfect things to spend time making, decorating and then giving.
Plumped for 2 items: Snowman Soup :T and Christmas Muffin mix :T Kitchen benches are now overflowing with the ingredients. Got the cello cones from the ebay link here and now everything is covered in a thin layer of drinking chocolate, I've had to buy inordinate amounts of mini-marshmallows as they 'leave home' during the night and the same with chocolate bits for the top!Yesterday found a box of 12 peppermint sugar canes in Sainsbury (for £1.00) so that's the final decoration for them.
Got all the stuff for the Christmas mix ready too and will make them up next week. Hardest part was getting real parcel tags - tried with gift labels but it didn't look right - and then found them in our local Post Office.
The additional third set of gifts I'm making are little mini Le Creuset casserole dishes (with lids) which I'll fill with home-made chicken liver pate,
So... thanks again to all for the ideas. It's lovely to read this thread every day, sharing the daily lives of so many people is interesting and enlightening. :T:T0 -
Morning All
Tru - hope you get through the meal ok!
Wet and windy here, its horrible out there.
Had a productive day and spring cleaned the front room ready for Xmas decs - didnt get the decs done as Strictly had started by then so sat down & watched that. All that is left to do is for OH to wash the leather settee, its his job as I hardly sit on it (compared to him anyway)
Today's plans - our local nursery/food hall has a Christmas fayre - may pop along to that. Have the kids uniforms to iron, need to do an online shop (have already mealplanned :j), must get a couple of invoices done for OH to take in tomorrow. Hope to get some wrapping done and maybe some baking. Just about to put Gammon in the slow cooker for tonights dinner.
Feeling quite energetic at the moment so will try and make the most of it.
Best get on - have a great Sunday all.x
Gers - that all sounds lovely, got behind with my Xmas stuff this year because of illness, work stress etc but next year I hope to be organised & have loads of HM pressies.
Edited to say - Pink if you are around could you point me in the direction of your home made Sausage roll post - pretty please - did have a search but couldn't find it.0 -
Morning everyone.
Terrible night with DS. His temp was between 38 and 39.5 all night, his poor cheeks are so flushed you could fry an egg on them
Haven't bothered with the Swine Flu website as I suspect they will make the diagnosis of swine flu (as he has a number of the symptoms) and I am not going to give him Tamilflu anyway. So will be house bound today so will try and get the baking done that I didn't do yesterday. DS won't eat a thing so will see if the cheese scones he normally asks for has any effect!
So not very exciting day at Chez Bitsy :rotfl:
Zippy - Can I have some of whatever you are on? Your start to the thread was really upbeat and hyper - can I have some of your energy I need it today!!!
Hugs to all that need them. Have a good Sunday OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0
