  • Morning all!
Bitsy- I hope your ds is ok.

I'm still full of cold and could've done with a lie in but dd had other ideas at 6.33!! Its around her normal time for getting up but she was 3 hours later to bed last night,at 10pm, so is now very ratty-luckily shes going to grandmas shortly!!!
She was late because we went to a pantomine last night-it was amateur but very good if you like panto-unfortunately I don't so had to endure 2 1/2 hours of it on a very hard chair-I have a painful rear still this morning, but dd and her friends really enjoyed it-whooppee it'll become an annual event now-can't wait for next year!!!-oh and I'd nearly forgotten we are going to a professional one on the 28th!-at least its in a theatre so the seats should be comfier!!!
I could do with having a good clean this morning and have some ironing to do but am tempted to go back to bed .
We've just had bacon sarnies for breakfast. Plan is HM soup for lunch and chicken and tomato pasta for tea.
I was hoping for an NSD today but may go to netto for a bag of salad. I have lots of bought (a very long time ago) diet meals in the freezer so am planning to eat one a day for my lunch this week but they need salad with them. At least they'll be healthy-well unless I get food poisoning as they must've been in there a couple of years!!!
Hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning all.

Zippy, your thread starter has fairly woken me up. :D What a brilliant way to start a Sunday. :T:beer::D Thank you. x
Hope your don't end up in pain from the food Tru. x

You sound like a great mum Hester. :AWe already know you're a great wife.
Hope DS is ok Bitsy. xxx
    Welcome Pammy :hello:

I didn't have time to post yesterday but we had a lovely day with no major disasters. The decorations are now up so I'm feeling festive. I have no cooking to do today as we are having cheeses and bread for lunch and going out for a meal tonight.
Still have the usual organisation for school to do but other than that there will be little in the way of OS..
Think it will be papers in front of the fire and a short walk in the woods to get some pine cones and holly for decorations.

    Have lovely days everyone. xxx

    Morning all.

So glad that we got all the garden bits moved yesterday, its pouring again here .

Today I need to nip to the local town to the cheepie shops for some of those huge plastic laundry bags, my mum bought my sister some when they moved, and they fit such a lot in them and are very strong, unfortunatly my sisters are still full otherwise I could have had them.

Roast happy chook for dinner, and I will made a lemon drizzle cake, and I fancy making some lentil soup now, the rest of the day will be a general blur of bed changing hoovering and packing, still dont actually know if we are moving  but if we are its going to be soon, and I am panicking slightly.

Diva, hugs to Tris, have his wife and children been away?

Tru, Big hugs to you too, hope tonight is ok xx

Still full of cold here too, dd seems to have got it too, and OH has had it for over a month, it seems to be a bad one.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all

Zippy I found too much sugar content in the skittles vodka however I can heartily recommend Blackjack Vodka......makes your tongue go black:D

Did you all pee the bed this morning??? I feel like i've had a sleep-in with all this activity before I even get here!

DH is not amused.....I cooked him a rolled turkey breast in the SC yesterday (he likes it dry:rolleyes:) his eldest DD is here from her mums for the weekend and moved it within reach of the dog when she made toast this morning....one happy dog one bouncing DH.

I've a few more MS jobs today - anything between two and five depending on how my hip holds up!

Had a chicken in the slow cooker overnight so we have chicken HM chips with mushrooms, onions and gravy for dinner.....Mmmmmm belly is rumbling at the thought!

I never encountered lentil soup til I moved to Northern Ireland but its one of DH's favourites and DS-D (the one that lives with us) loves it so I have portions frozen for her...she had some last night - must be the weekend for it!

Hope everyone has a great day

  • Morning everybody :hello:

We were all in Brum yesterday. Me and dd went to the ballet with my dad and OH, the boys and my mum went to the German market. The ballet was gorgeous.

We got home to hot beef stew which I'd put in the oven on automatic (I made it on Friday). There's some leftover which I'm going to extend with passata and beans to make soup for lunch today.

We'll have smoked Italian sausages and mash for supper and some sort of pudding-possibly chocolate fudge pud

I need to bake something for the kids' lunchboxes, probably some sort of muffin. I have loads of frozen blackberries and raspberries to use up.

I must remember to browse the magazines tomorrow when I'm shopping to see if I can spot Bitsy's OH. I'm full of admiration for anyone who can stick to a weight loss plan.

    Morning all!

Sun is shining and I'm in bed listening to the Archers, happy days!

Have been and sorted out the kitchen and animals and made toast for me and dd3. ds is now cooking bacon and eggy bread for them all, and dd2 is doing the pots (she made gingerbread santas yesterday night!).

Today will be a good bit of hoovering everywhere, we put up the tree last night and it always makes more of a mess than expected, even after hoovering last night there's still a lot of bits everywhere. Also need to track down all the decorations we couldn't find - bought some new ones last year and couldn't find them, but it was a bit dark out in the garage lol!

Went to buy some wool yesterday, and signed up for the Tuesday craft classes, I'm sooooo excited, kids think it's really funny, but bless 'em they did say "it'll be nice for you to do something just for you"! Got some crochet hooks in Lidl, and I am going to remember how to do it, planning on watching the youtube vids later! dd1 came to the shop with me and chose some lovely wool, and is busy making a scarf, first thing she did when she woke up was start knitting again! dd3 wanted to learn how to knit, and did really well aside from keep casting on extra stitches, gave her a bit of help, and now her new teddy is the proud possessor of a bright red festive scarf! I found some lovely bobbly wool, and it only took a couple of hours to knit up into a scarf, it's glorious autumnal colours!

Got the school fair this afternoon, I'm doing the tattoo and nail stand, should be fun! dd3 is excited about seeing Santa! Then I'm off to work for a spot of overtime, will help even things out after the cost of the new oven! Then I need to pop to see ex as he has sorted out the bit of wood that goes above the oven, so that it should fit and I won't be left with a big gap!

Hope everyone has a lovely day, I'm going to have a read back now and another cuppa xx

Morning everyone. Had a nice lie in until 9.30am this morning so feeling pretty good now :D

Not many plans for today apart from the usual ironing, chasing up homework, refereeing arguments etc  Lunch is going to be sandwiches and dinner is Lancashire hotpot with Yorkies. Any leftover horpot will become hotpot pies - got the idea reading a thread on the last week - sorry to the poster but I can't remember who :o But thanks anyway :T

Bargainbird ((big hugs)) I understand how you feel I think most women will as sometimes we all feel like a nursemaid/general dogsbody to the rest of the family who are not at all grateful at times  Hope you have a better day today :A

A quick question - I usually buy a boneless gammon, is it cheaper/nicer to buy a ham hock then use the bone for stock? Thanks in advance :D

    Have a good day all.

    Morning everybody,

It's 8.15pm here and it's still as hot as hell. Have I told anybody how much I hate summer? :D Yes, well I thought I did. We even had tea outside on the verandah tonight braving the mosquito's. Didn't get a chance to post yesterday. Not because I was super busy like Haribo though, because I was in melt down mode & we were all trying to keep cool. Went to a party last night and the punch helped. ;):D After a while we were all pretty happy.

DGS slept all last night without waking me. :T Fingers crossed for tonight. DH put his pool up today. We have a good little spot on the cement under the back verandah. Shady. Tomorrow is basically just doing basics suffering through the heat.

Hope you all have a happy day & <hugs> to those poorly. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
