Just had a big delivery van pull up outside my door. Rushed to meet the driver - to be given a teeny jiffy bag with a dvd in from The Hut. :rolleyes:

Asked him what the roads are like today and he said much better than yesterday (I live t'other side of the Tyne to Newcastle).

If he can make it down our street in his big van, there's no excuse for you, Mrs/Ms DHL delivery courier. Pull yer finger out and get yourself to my house!!!

thank you for informing about merryhill having the hatboxes, sent my sister who lives 2 min away to pick them up for me on sunday.....she seemed just as excited about it as l was when she told me that she had managed to get them!!!! even though im all the way in essex your info on here really helps. thanxs ladies.

Skibster - I had a similar problem with Tesco last year. Usually the people that call you are in the Tesco 'home shopping' head office. If you call the manager in charge of home delivery, at your local store you may have more luck rescheduling.
When I had the problem last year I explained how important it was I had my order, and they arranged another slot for me ...although in theory they were 'full'

Mine were delivered yesterday afternoon, haven't checked the contents though.

Photobox have let me down though - £60 photobook ordered between my siblings and I on 14th december only just being packed today, not impressed!

This happened to me last year and I was told that if I could get to the store the order would be ready to collect. Seeing as we were snowed in and my car doesn't do snow I was still stuffed of course. I'm just thinking if you have someone who could just collect it for you or if you could get a taxi to pick it up that might help. You never know - Tesco might fork out for a taxi seeing as they let you down. Keep trying that phone number and good luck.

If you are picking up from store and haven't had a notification that it's ready yet it is worth checking anyway if you're not too far away. I went into store at lunchtime to pick up something else that I'd had the text for and the sa came back with my hatbox as well :-)

Yes, I've used collect in store a lot over these last few months. It seems you don't get the email until some-one in the store books your parcel in on their computer, so it's quite possible it may be sitting there but not booked in yet.

OH collected mine from the local store last night. I am so pleased with it. I checked the contents and they are all there. I couldn't get the plastic bit off though without cutting it but as it is for me was not a problem.
