  • Sorry that you find the DHL delivery drivers an absolute pain , I have been one for 2+ years and pride myself on offering a good service .... all agents operating out of our local depot do the same .... I have extra insurance for my car for when delivering and home for when any are stored here overnight...... We definately dont deliver 'when we get round to it ', we HAVE to attempt all deliveries the next day whether they are next day or economy , despite only getting paid when we actually deliver , if we dont get it delivered after 3 attempts then we dont get paid so obviously everyone is keen to get delivery made on a first attempt......

Like i said, i found it on another website by someone else. I have never dealt with DHL before but all ive heard has been very negative.

Yep the easiest one today as it didnt involve going out in the ice ! If it is out for delivery today it should be attempted today whether it is a regular van driver (unlikely) or a Home Delivery agent, if you are out a card will be left and generally a parcel can be collected from your local agent who is invariably much closer than the local DHL depot.

The non-regular agents are what worry me, as we live in a gated building. Regular drivers know how to use the box on the gate and call (just dial the flat number), but I don't know if someone who didn't do this regularly would know that. Here's hoping they have (and use!) my phone number included with the order if they can't figure out how to get in! Otherwise they would just stick the missed delivery note to the gate box, where it might blow away before we can find it! Also, we have no way to go collect from someone unless they are very close, no car, so they'd better deliver it at home, lol!
  • Have found this posted elsewhere by someone about DHL! (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=690909)

I think I can throw some light on these delivery delays
DHL have started using home delivery agents ( housewives between school runs etc)

They are an absolute pain. Ive just had an item showing as out for delivery for a week, basically they get handed over to the home delivery agent and they deliver it when the get round to it

Anything that will fit in their car will be given to them
Bit of a concern as if items are with the delivery agent for 4.5 or 6 days where are they being kept ovenights say ? In the car, in the garage or shed? as they would not be insured by that individuals home policy !

Yes, it's basically as I said in my post here.

My son's order from Boots last week was reading this for 3 days. It was eventually delivered by a lady at 9.30pm at night.
Hope you are all not waiting so long for yours.
  • finally! i just got a despatched email, but tracking it it's already saying one of the boxes is out for delivery so there must have been a delay in my order being updated on the system to despatched. phew!!!

Soooo, I'm so bloody annoyed by now...

*Stayed up Thursday night until about 1am...silly holding page...
*Tried the website again from 6:45-7:45 on Friday morning, managed to get to checkout only for site to crash on me at the last step...repeatedly :(
*My friend went to the Stockport store for me, none in stock
*I went to the Ealing Branch, same story :(
    *None at Euston Station either

So after reading the Trafford Centre would get another delivery, I got up at 6:30am(on my day off!!!) today and took a bus at 7:15am, was supposed to be at the Trafford Centre at 8:33am....BUT didn't get there til 9:45am because of the snow chaos...I ran to Boots to see a lady leave the store with 2 hat boxes...I get all excited thinking they must be back in store. Walk around the shop looking for them and ask a couple of SA's on both floor "none...and we won't be getting any more" :(
Asked another one just to make sure and he said that there were only three boxes left from yesterday's delivery so if they're gone, that's it!

So I sat on the bus for 2 bloody hours for absolutely nothing and to top it off, my water leaked in my bag and now my phone is broken :( This OOTW is getting too expensive for me as my phone was still fairly new and I loved it :(

If anyone has an extra box and would be happy to ship it to me(I don't even want the silly box, just the products if that makes it easier to ship) please, please think of me :) Thank you!!!

There were a small number (approx 20) in the Swansea Quadrant branch an hour ago (to the right of the main door, near the escalator).

Sorry, couldn't carry anymore bags, but hope this helps somebody.
