  • Hi Bramble,

The new job sounds fantastic for you; bet you can't wait!

Good luck with the Race for Life; a very worthy cause. My wife did it last year in memory of her dear mum, and it was a great event to see, full of fun, but very moving too.

The new job is great, i absolutely love it!

But as it's always one thing after another with me, it looks like our housing situation isn't going to plan at all.

I need OH to get a new job, self employment doesn't pay enough and we need to start saving 6 months rent so we can move on and find some where that we can hopefully settle down in a for good few years.

I want to pay off my debts, but just don't know what to do about it! I need to move out too!

  • Well I suppose at least you could use some (or all) of the extra money you're earning to bring debts down. Which one you focus on is up to you; it could be the smallest (then it helps to feel you've achieved something when it's gone), or it could be the one with the highest interest rate, so you pay off the one that's hurting the most IYSWIM ;)

I've decided to get my credit card paid off first, then the overdraft, then worry about where to move and how to save. OH has managed to get a good 2/3 months work so he's got money coming in too.

    Looking forward to payday!

Going through my cupboards today, i've stocked up on lunch foods, enough for a good 2 or 3 weeks so that will cut down my shopping bill, and we've got more cereal than i know what to do with, going to make my way through that too in the coming weeks. So just dinner ideas to think about. I'm stuck in a rut there, can't think of any meal ideas that i like the sound of. We're pretty much going to live off stir frys at this rate!!

WAhoooooo massive bit of luck!! OH got a cheque for £1600 today from his insurance company for his written off truck.
He's going to be back on the road and is going to contribute to bills from now too!

So i have freed up more money to put towards my CC bill this month.

To be fair i didn't expect to ever get the money! But it arrived out of the blue (the accident happened last year!)

Soooo now i'm going to have to try my hardest to put a good chunk toward my CC instead of spending it on clothes or something!
