He said he's always been the same too (it all come out last night) he said his ex girlfriend (when he was with her) gave him money to get her car tax while he was in the town, but he just went to the pub and spent it. He has also stole from his best mate too. If you're a bit of a thief can you change? I wont be leaving my cash lying around again and will set up a dd for my board at lest then the temptation to stick it in his pocket is gone.
I think you got more problems than you think girl!! You really need to think about this and what you want out of this. I'm not going to say the old "you can do better" thats for you to decide but its something you need to really think about.
If you feel he really does deserve your support then you need to get him some help pronto!
IMO what you have done wrong so far, is talk about serious issues with impaired judgement (the wine)0 -
Thank you, I am going to give him another chance but if anything like this happens again then it really is over. I don't mind the debt, but the stealing is what has really wound me up, we have talked today too and things are a lot better. I do think he buries his head in the sand and I also know had I of not caught him out the taking the rent money wouldn't of stopped. That said he is a great bloke in every other way and am going to support him through this. I shall not pay his debts, because I think if there is an easy solution it will be too tempting to get into the same mess again. Thanks again0

Hi Bunster. Sorry i can't offer any suggestions. Though i feel a lot of people here have helped. Just wanted to give you a big hug. Well i would if i could find the icon thingy. lol.
It must have been awful for you to have been so let down by your partner. Lets hope he has learnt a really hard lesson.
Glad you're not paying his debts for him though. That wouldn't help. I think your great giving him the support he needs but i do think like one of the other people said (so sorry i've lost the name) that he needs more help than you can give him. It seems he does have issues that need to be adressed. But well done and good luck.0 -
I feel really positive this morning, we had a really good talk. I asked him if he felt I made him feel less of a man and talked to him like a child, he said not at all in fact he found that funny, he said it needs one of us to be sensible. I can't help being so pragmatic, that's the way I am, he knows what I am like. He is very annoyed at his Mom ringing me but I said not to tell her, because ultimately she thought she was helping, I was just extremely annoyed at the time.
Sounds to me like a man who's not prepared to take responsibility.
Can I ask how old he is?
Good luck for the future.Piglet

Thanks Fitftyeighter and Piglet, he does leave to worry abut stuff I guess, he is 40, at the same time I kind of like he doesn't take life seriously as I like his chilled out ways, but think he his perhaps too chilled.0
