I read somewhere that the 1p thats added on to the online orders is for the overalls, gloves & goggles that comes with your order.

  • I notice that the fitting instructions mention the risk of burying your electrical wiring.
30 years ago I put 4 - 6 inches in my loft ("he must be mad to stuff all that fibre in his loft") and managed to slip it under the wiring.
No way can I get another 6 inches (ok that is 150 mm in new money) under the wires.
So are there any real overheating risks in having the wires between two layers of insulation?
  • Looks like the £1 is now closed. The button on the npower website no longer works. It used to take you to the calculator page. npower have changed the offer now to 2 for 1 insulation at the normal price. See below for link. I wonder if the other energy companies will be doing the £1 offer as well. Oh well I just missed out. Will have to wait and see if the offer returns sometime.

  • Just done my order through the website, the calculator said buy 1 get 1 free, but i proceeded to order anyway (i thought why not, worth a go) and it came up with the price for the order with the £1 a roll prices in the basket on the next page :D

Just got my insulation order in and confirmed by e-mail for £40. :-)

  • Just got 29 rolls of the big stuff for £29.01 over the phone from Paignton store 01803 554445 - had no joy yesterday either by phone or website.
    Good luck
  • I tried the site this morning. Got straight through and placed an order. Fingers crossed it comes through, but I got an email confirmation. Thanks very much for the advice Grim Reaper.

  • Just rang my local branch and they have got some in, as I'm only 5 mins from branch I can pick it up today. :j
  • I tried the 0845 number again this morning and couldnt get through. I then gave the 0800 529529 number a go and got through within a minute. They took my order and said my local build centre will contact to arrange delivery. Ordered 18 100mm thick rolls, total cost £18.01. Bingo....
  • Could not get through online, so phoned local Builder Centre which is 50 miles away. Got 35 rolls 170mm for £35.02
