  • Hi Guys

    I work for Build Center at a branch in East Sussex.

    I would strongly recomend you call your local branch, as both the Npower and Build Center websites seem to be jammed solid.

    All the branches are waiting for stock, some orders maybe fufilled before christmas, but more than likley be with you in January.

    Just so you know, there is no hidden agenda or charges, we sell the insulation at a loss, but Npower will pay us the difference. I think this is due to them having to meet government quota's for energy saving. And we will give you a free PPE pack (gloves, mask and goggles)

    After this Friday, we may not see this offer again at £1 a roll, so dont hang about.

    If you having trouble getting through to place your order, and live south of London, and provided i dont get hundreds of messages, PM me your postcode and town name and i will give the nearest branches details.
    If you live in the Rye/Hastings area give my branch a call on 01797 252211

    Not sure how this would work - my loft joists are only 4" high but my loft is part-boarded. How can I insulate to a depth of 270mm and still retain my loft boards?

    you cant im afraid mate

    the system is designed to lay over the excisting joists and insulation

    I have been trying all day, online and by phone and have not been able to contact anyone. Why do an offer and not have the resources to deal with the response???:p
    It's probably cost me more in lost production time and stress than I will save on the insulation:eek:

    have you tried your local build centre, I did and got through immediately to place my order.
  • :money:This is a cracking deal! Not the ceiling I hope.
    I have tried the website this morning and at lunch time, only manage to get to the calculator page and no further. :confused:

    Then I read this forum again and followed andrew-b's advice/link (post #18) to find out the phone number for my local build centre. They picked up the phone within minutes and then I went through the order with them. Then they told me that they can deliver as early as next Wed. Fantastic! :beer:

    Phone your local Build Centre or any Build Centre near your area - fast and hassle-free. No need to wait as long as you know approximately how big is your loft in m2 and the thickness of insulation that you want (100mm or 170mm or both?). Then work out how many rolls you need from the table on the nPower webpage. However officially there is a limit of 100m2 per household. Perhaps you can sweet talk you local branch for more and I think some fellow/lady has been very successful (post # 11, #19, #21?, #34). Especially for post #34, how did you manage to order so many - 49 rolls? :huh::grin:
  • Just got 43 rolls from my local build centre - they have said it will be delivered mid january and that they will call 1st

    Fingers crossed.
  • just got mine ordered by calling my nearest build center. 100mm will be delayed until January, but 170mm is available now.

    nPower's been selling Rockwool Loft Insulation, for £1 per roll (usually £5ish) inc delivery. The promotion ended but we managed to persuade it to restart it with a further 10,000 rolls. Don't worry you don't need to be an nPower customer; the offer's available nationwide, to everyone.

    [title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif How do I get them?[/title]

    Update 9 Dec 2pm: The nPower site is struggling under demand at the moment, so be patient. Alternatively find your nearest Build Centre (see link below) and ring direct or ring the 0845 number below.
    [title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif How much do I need?[/title]

    Use Build Center's calculator first to work out how much you'll need. Find the info on the nPower website. If you have any unused rolls you can return them to Build Center and you'll be refunded at the £1 per roll price you paid.

    [title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif When does the offer end?[/title]

    The offer's for 10,000 rolls. While it's very unlikely, if the 10,000 haven't gone already it'll end at 4pm Friday (11 December).

    [title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif Anything else?[/title]

    Your order will need to be to your residential address and it's one order per property, up to a maximum of 100m2 per household. The offer's available for delivery to houses in mainland Great Britain and you have to be a homeowner or rent from a landlord.

    nPower's said the Build Center aims to get all insulation delivered to customers by 31 January.

    If you order to collect your insulation at a Build Center store, if it does have stock available, you may be able to collect it immediately, but this isn't guaranteed.
