I sent the email copied to this site on to Naked Wines, and copied it three separate email addresses given by Naked Wines and addressed it to four people: Olly; Lewis; Emma: and Rowan – who had variously sent me emails. Emma Blackman emailed me today (16 July) – ten days later – to tell me that they had not had a response to her email of 4 July to which mine of 6 July was a response. My email of 6 July copied to this site mentioned Emma Blackman by name. I said that I did not wish to receive any more emails from them, but later this evening I received yet another from someone calling himself "Rowan".
Naked Wines do not need to recruit any more of their employees and associates to post on this forum. Naked Wines (at best) offer a user experience deliberately designed to be confusing, and at worst a fraudulent scam. Their remedy is to issue against me a High Court writ for libel: my user name is my real name and to the best of my knowledge and belief there is only one of me in the world.
I think you are being massively paranoid thinking that anyone who has posted on here supporting NW is an employee. And I note that you've failed to answer the question I asked a couple of weeks ago.
So I'll repeat it :
what did they say when you made the first simple request to have your money back, under the terms of their angel scheme that are laid out and linked from every page of their website ?0 -
I purchased from NW a few months ago following receiving a £40 voucher from Amazon. Chose a £60 box and got it for £20 so happy with that. At the time, I was given the option to sign up to be an Angel on the promise of another £40 towards a purchase. Too good to be true so went ahead. My purchased arrived swiftly and the wines were OK - nothing exceptional though.
The big shock for me though was that the first Angels 'payment' was taken off my card immediately after my first purchase. This part wasn't clear. I presumed wrongly that as it said monthly, the first would come out a month after my first purchase. I'm sure it must be in the small print but I couldn't find it anywhere.
Although I could cope with a £40 bill for booze at a push, there are some though that could not (would never dream of normally spending that sort of money on wine in one go except for a special occassion party etc).
After some research on the website as to the wines available and sampling a couple in the case, I decided it wasn't for me after all. I cancelled my membership and the £20 first Angel payment was refunded within a few days. No attempts were made (that I am aware of) to claw back the original £40 I had off the discounted case.
I'm sure it's fine for wine lovers looking for something a bit different and those with a few spare quid every month. For me however, I prefer to sample the special offers on at the supermarket now.0 -
Sweet FA wrong with Naked Wines IMHO !
Been a member for nearly a year without a problem, had some great deals and attended this years wine tour at Manchester Town Hall .
There where around 150 wines to taste from about 36 producers who where all present. These people really made the night as being able to talk to them about the wine was a pleasure and an education.
As in all wine clubs there will be wine you do not rate and others rate highly, its all down to personal preference. But , I do not know any other than NW who have a no quibble return policy on any wine that is corked etc or you simply do not like.
As in anything research is all . Check out the wines others have top rated in the category that you like and make up your own case instead of buying a selection case.
I have only had 2 bottles that did not come up to my standards out of about 140 up to press !0 -
My biggest concern with Naked Wines is how they have no respect for customers' privacy. I am an angel but forgot to update my details when my card expired. They phoned my home and spoke to someone here who has nothing to do with my purchases or my financial situation. Not only did they tell him that I was paying £20 a month, they also told him that my card 'had been refused'. They then asked for his email address and sent him the details! it has put me into an extremely embarrassing situation and I can't imagine how they think this is acceptable behaviour. Needless to say, I am cancelling my subscription.
PS their wines really aren't great. In fact, a couple were completely undrinkable but, to my annoyance now, I never got around to returning them0 -

I wasnt joining any cash back club I just asked for 6 wines at £35 a special offer. Goodness knows how many people are losing £20 a month on their debit card. This is illegal.
What a load of rubbish.
Here's the thing. I had the voucher, wanted to buy some wine as a present for someone. However, I had the common sense to read the terms and conditions, realised it meant joining the scheme at £20 per month. Guess what? I used my brain and decided not to buy the wine because I did not want to commit to £20 a month. It was as easy as that!!!!!!0 -
Beware: I had a charge to my credit card of £20 identified only by the code 63577303 INTERNET GBR. I had no record of this transaction and had to ask my credit card company to trace it for me. They'd had several other enquiries of the same nature and were able to tell me how it had been generated.
I bought an offer case from Naked Wines after receiving an e-mail from them. There was information saying that I would "squirrel away" £20 each time I made an order, but no indication that this would be taken from my account.
A phone call to NW cancelled my account with the promise of £20 refund. I also complained that they had lost a potential customer by this devious method of extracting money.0 -

What you signed up to is very clearly explained on their website. The fact you chose not to actually read this does not make it devious.0 -
