You forgot the fact they also need a couch to sleep on the other 23 hours of the day.
Couch?
Mine sleeps on both settess, both armchairs (thanks God for black leather and good leather cleaners LOL), on my bed, and sometimes even inside cat's bed.. well, at least part of her is inside the cat bed anyway...In revenge for that - cat seeing her sleeping on his bed (which he never uses anyway - he is a cat after all) will go and pee on her bed....
Zara will sleep anywhere apart from her own bed.0 -

I went downstairs the other night and nearly fell down the stairs trying to avoid stepping on her. Somehow she had managed to sleep on the stairs. One half on one step and the other on another. I often have to check my Staff's pulse just to make sure she is still alive.0 -
Oh my one likes to sleep on her back, belly up with her back legs wide open - such a lady like position...... LOL0

Really? Because you see, I can not walk past them laughing - not when I have my dog with me as they would shred my dog to pieces.
I find that far too much of a generalisation to be honest. My staffy was obviously bred from fighting dogs, even in his pedigree there were ridiculous names like "Max the Matador" and rubbish like that. Yet we met an old lady at the park everyday and her chiuaua would swing on his ears and generally make a pest of himself. my dog never so much as grumbled, he would run around with any dog he met quite happily, as have any staffy i've ever met. or cared for. including crosses. Obviously if they're brought up to be aggressive and provoked into being so they will react accordingly. but so will any dog.Unfortunately,
MONEY makes the world go round.
Bah Humbug!!!!

my anni slept exactly like that! she also did something which made even my hubby cringe...............shut your eyes now and scroll down if you dont want to know!!!
she used to pluck the fur around her vagina with her teeth! arggghhhh - and i cant even stand to pluck my eyebrows!!!!!!!:rotfl:0 -
Ah - so not just my one is such a lady then, huh? LOL0
-
lmao - she had a really neat trick too - my OH would settle on sofa slippers on - and anni would sit in front of him - then nose his slipper off - then sniff foot and fall over backwards! dog joke? she had a habit of undoing shoe laces too! she did it to a police officer once - then hid behind sofa! was embarrassing as i didnt notice her doing it and he tripped over when he left.0

Actually no you cant get gun dogs from rescue, not if you are seriously working your dog and want your dog to be recognised as a good working dog
You get good working dogs from good working proven lines - therefore you go to a Breeder. A breeder who is breeding from the best available stock - both sire and dam. You dont just go pick up some pup from a rescue who just happens to be a spaniel or retriever
Once again you are just showing you dont know what anyone means when they say they have a WORKING dog
If your staffy was bred to work same as spaniels and retrievers were then yes you could class it as a working dog. However staffies were bred for the sole purpose of bear and bull baiting, badger hunting and finally dog fighting ( for which they are still being bred for)
On no account would you if you were seriously into hunting and shooting be buying or rescuing a staffy to train up. Genetically they just dont have what it takes.
J
Nobody has said they will buy a Staffy to train to be a hunting/gundog, please read. I said *if* a Staffy was doing that it'd be exactly the same as a gundog breed & working, it may not be bred to do that but if it does (As mine will) then there's no difference. And yes you CAN get working gundogs from rescue, the Springer breed rescue rehomed one to a relative of mine that has always been a working dog. You can get all sorts of dogs from rescue & the police often take Dogs from rescue to train up as sniffer dogs. Lots of people don't give a monkeys about a stupid piece of paper, they want a pet or a dog to do a certain job & if it does that then good stuff0
