those who havn't got their order dispatched yet, don't get your hopes up, they have run out of stock :(

    Dear Ms xxxxxxxx

At M&S our aim is to ensure that we respond to customer queries quickly, completely and accurately. I apologise that you have had to contact us again as we have not met your expectations.

I've looked into your order and can see that your order will be cancelled as all of the items are out of stock. I apologise that you were not made aware of this earlier and for the inconvenience this has caused.

Occasionally items that were showing in stock at the time the order was placed are cancelled from orders due to being out of stock. Unfortunately there are occasions when our website is busy due to sale periods or popular items, on these rare occasions it is possible to order items which are not in sufficient inventory to fulfil all orders placed. You haven't been charged for this order.

I can confirm that this is a matter we are currently looking into to prevent this from happening.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us and I'd like to apologise again for the poor service you've experienced.

If we can be of any further assistance Ms XXXXXXXX please feel free to contact us

  • Oh Amistoso, I am so sorry. :(

This out of stock stuff is nonsense. I ordered when there were only 2 posts on this thread and there were 20 different gift sets to choose from. Everything was in stock when I ordered, & I think it was the same or similar for you. Everything I had ordered has since been delivered to people who placed their orders waaaaaaay later than us, so why was our stock not set aside first? I can't help feeling a little miffed, not so much about those who just took a chance & ordered a few items, but the ones who ordered very large amounts just for the sake of it..they'll probably be selling them off down at their local.

As for me, out of the 11 items I ordered, I now have two wine racks showing dispatching soon......the rest have gone pfffffffffft!

I just got my other 3 items from the HDN man, I feel bad for everyone that had theirs cancelled though. I ordered at almost 9 am, but I didn't order anything that seems to have been very popular like the Festive Fizz, maybe that's why I still got mine.

Thanks sparky, just one of those things I suppose, I ordered around 8.20 am and I know people ordered after me and have either got their stuff or it's being dispatched soon. I asked why this had happened and all they said was they were looking into it, not much comfort for me now though...

another cheers to all the greedy muppets who ruined it for others, hope yer next craps a hedgehog!!!! :p

    No festive fizz for me.

    I ordered:
    Wine tasting set
    Whisky set
    After dinner set
    Port & mints
    mini prosecco
    wine rack with wine

From what I've seen, all of these have been delivered elsewhere and my order was definitely one of the very early ones..I actually thought I'd caught a glitch in time for once..ha ha.
  • I think its so awful that those who ordered early aren't getting their orders, not so much because they ordered early but if they honour one order shouldn't they honour all? I really think they should have said that no one would get their orders however we would get a small selection of say 3-4 of the items as a goodwill gesture. I know I would have felt better knowing we would all have been treated the same :)

I'd push for a goodwill gesture if I were you. I got a fiver for the festive fizz fizzing into nothingness and some people on this thread got a tenner!

Aww it's real stinky that orders are being cancelled now. I ordered half a dozen things at 8:20 on the 4th and have had them delivered.

We also made an order for 5 fizz when they popped back up on the website on Saturday after the glitch was rectified and they were delivered today. So it really sucks that those who ordered early are now being disappointed.

I couldn't help but giggle at your parting line tho' Amistoso :D
