Why not? What were you selling?

I've bought lots of stuff from marketplace no problems. If you have reasonable expectations of other people it's very good.

If you're under the impression you're dealing with something exactly like amazon proper, then you may come a cropper with your unreasonable assumption.

Surely, it must be a reasonable expectation to receive genuine goods from an Amazon Marketplace seller?

Oh sure, but there is a not unfathomable risk involved.

There's the risk your items may go missing etc if ordered through Amazon proper.

The only thing I find unfathomable is what on earth you are trying to say?

That is so obvious, there seems no point in saying it.

    QED.

That people don't understand risk. Something is either guarenteed 100% safe, or is a situation where things can go wrong and can be avoided. People have a black and white attitude to safty and risk.

Real life is not like that.

I certainly considered the risks. This was a new Amazon Marketplace seller with zero feedback.

Before making the purchase, I actually considered the implications that the seller may be bogus and looked at Amazon's A-Z guarantee to be sure I was covered in that event.

I also knew how to handle the situation should it transpire the seller was selling fake goods. By asking the seller for a return address, I knew, whatever their response, their answer would trap them!

It wasn't a criticism of you personally or your actions! You seem to have approached this in a reasonable way.

It was a criticism of the "avoid all marketplace sellers" line! Which wasn't said by you.

I used to sell on Amazon Marketplace and I can only say one thing about it:

    Never, EVER, buy from Marketplace.

I've brought lots of second hand books from Marketplace with no problems at all.

In fact the only time I thought of complaining the guy sent me two books on the subject instead of one.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
