do people not do one main present anymore, with a few stocking fillers?

weve always worked to the idea that a main present should cost no more than £50-£100, with the stocking fillers, all being well under £10 a pop (more like £1 or £2 each)

if they want anything over £100, then its a joint christmas/birthday present

tbh, i am shocked at the amounts some people spend on their kids. And no, kids do not know the value of money, until they are having to pay for things themselves (ie an adult having to support themselves) - you can give them the poor children, no food on the table story, but they have no concept of it at all - my kids know our funds arent limitless, but they still think that I can go to the bank, and there will always be money available, as banks give you money, right? they just dont understand the meaning of no money, because on the whole, what they want, they get - they just think the odd time i dont buy what they want, is because im being mean, not that i cant afford it, or dont think they deserve it

And that is your choice. But it's also my choice to treat my kids. I'll more than likely be blind before i'm 30. I'm in and out of hospital. Me and their father work full time. I want to treat my kids, see their happy faces, watch them play. Because one day I'll not beable to.

This is my choice. I put £20 in their banks every month, thats £240 a month which is £4350 betime they're 18. I put in extra money when I can. I'm looking after their future. I save all year so that at christmas I can make it special.

    I wont apologise for it.

Bad time to say they're designed for 4yrs+ cause of small parts and the small chance of eating them?

mmm no my DD does know the value of money at least to the extent a 9yr old can , she knows that mum and dad have to work to put money IN to the bank in order to get it back out, when she walks in to a store with her pocket money she knows about getting many things for x amount for the 1 big thing for x amount (money sense). If i can't afford to get her something, she doesn't think i'm being mean she knows i can't afford it because of other commitments rent, car bills etc and she is happy to accept that and has in turn offered her savings before when overheard me and her dad speaking about finances, so i think she does have an understanding of money
