that's true mandz27, guess better to spend less now in anticipation of the future.
Yip anything you don't spend just now put by for when they get older and more expensive :rotfl:
I mean what i've spent i had to scrub off the laptop she asked for and the latest mobile phone and ipod :eek::eek: it's a nightmare told her she'll bankrupt santa if she asks for more :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::xmastree: :snow_grin Santa's Little Helper :snow_grin :xmastree:0 -
Just my 2 penneth ,and i am sure i will be shot down for saying it but here goes,i think kids get far too much spent on them now a days ,and they dont appreciate what they have nor play with most of the toys they have ,and as they grow up they have no real concept on the value of things.
Christmas to me is about spending quality time with family and friends and not who has the biggest pile of toys that they most probably will never play with !!Will this hammy hunt ever end ???
So far all 4 hamsters £40,3 beds £15,Skate board and u turn £22,House £25 total £97.00 ....still wanting wheel,car,slide,ball,surf board ....
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE :rotfl:0 -
I've spent about £140 each on my 8 year olds. More than enough, as they don't really need anything. One wanted a bike but we've decided against that, so apart from sequin art they didn't really tell santa about anything else!0

i'm thinking i've spend around £200 ish on my ds.
Out of that,I've got a set of junior golf clubs, gaming chair, Wii beatles rock band and lego rock band game, and wii family trainer extreme, mario and sonic at winter olympics. And of course a Chunk
Those are his "big" (read expensive presents lol) but I've managed to get most of them on discount/ or price matched with discounts. And the rest is a selection of books, dvds, jammies, sweeties, keyrings (he collects them.... odd child) etc etc.
I've done quite well this year with finding bargains, so am well pleased!
What age is your DS?:xmastree: :snow_grin Santa's Little Helper :snow_grin :xmastree:0 -

Goggins, I agree there can be some kids that get toooooooo much. A friend of mines wee girl was spoilt rotten and basically ripped parcels opened and said "next". She didnt appreciate a thing. I was gobsmacked!
My wee one gets quite a lot, but I try and spread the cost of buying it from about july onwards (christmas shopping in july?!?!?! sad sad sad i know lol) and i make sure he writes his thank you letters.
He's been warned that this year santa has a credit crunch on and cant make as many presents as he used to, and so far so good. My wee one knew I was on a budget and he asked things like "if i get that wii game how much is left in santas purse???" aw bless. 7 years old and budgetting already!:heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpulsPrincesses wear crowns to remind them that they are beautiful and special because some days its easy to forget. :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls0 -
mands, he's 7 "and a half" - i cant miss out the important half! lol
Mind you sometimes, I think he thinks he's 17!!:heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpulsPrincesses wear crowns to remind them that they are beautiful and special because some days its easy to forget. :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls0 -
Just to add we let ours put 10 things on there list for santa ,but they dont get all of the 10 things ,for every time they are naughty santa takes a present away and leaves an onion in its place hahahahaha......Will this hammy hunt ever end ???

Evry1 has the right to what they thinki actually agree with you to an extent , yes kids nowadays do get too much and a percentage of those tings will end up at the bottom of the pile with the other non played with stuff , but however i stress to my DD about how fortunate she is especially at christmas, i let her know that some kids are fortunate if they get a meal on xmas let alone any toys , also my DD doesn't get treats as such throughout the year she gets pocket money which she has to "earn" chores etc and she can save that and treat herself so she knows money dont grow on trees and so she can learn the value of it, but at christmas i just cant help myself
:o and of course we buy her board games so she has no option but to spend time with us :rotfl:either that or shes !!!!!!ed off out the door to play with her friends
