I've bought stuff in sales etc this year for DD's santa sack (in fact I found some stuff I'd bought in the middle of January this week ;)). My DD has never asked for lots of expensive stuff from Santa, I'm lucky in that respect. At age 8, the most expensive item she's ever had at Christmas was a DSlite. And that year, there wasn't a lot of other stuff in her sack at all.

She did actually ask for a Wii last year for her birthday I think it was. I told her that was too expensive to buy as a present for one celebration, but if she wanted to save up her money to buy half, we would put in the other half. She saved hard, and it was a really good lesson for her, she felt chuffed when she finally got it (on her birthday this year).

I think I've spent around £70 on her Santa pressies this year, and she has most of whats on her list, plus lots of little surprises. When she was little, it was more like £40 - and I could fill a big sack to overflowing with that :D.

My 4 year old said a couple of months ago, when I told him off for climbing on the sofa, "Naughty Mummy. Now just be quiet, for one minute, will you?"

It's when he repeats me like that, I nearly crack up (-:
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

We've got one, and OH thinks I've got him far too much stuff!

    1. Hamster, £10
    2. Spanish set £45
    3. Tunnel and train (Thomas) £16
    4. 5 books (£3 each, £15 total)
    5. Timmy Time jigsaw set (£4)
    6. 2 x DVDs (£4 each, £8 total)

    Total of £94.

That sounds just right to me :D

books and jigsaws are educational anyhow :)

We've spent around £125 each on the 2 boys. Eldest wants a playstation but he is asking everyone else for money, and is giving us that towards it. We'll be paying around £100. The only other thing he asked for was a new dressing gown :A
We got him a plasticine set because I like the fact that at 13 he still wants to 'play' with stuff rather than just go on the playstation all the time.

We were saying last night that we should keep one of youngest's 3 'main' presents back until summer for his birthday, because 2 presents is enough from santa along with a nightlight/torch and a large stocking. The stocking contains games for v-smile and psp so he's definitely got 'enough'.
