can anyone help me find a chunk please!!!!!!!! dont want to go down the bay route, anyone know whos listing tommor? x

This is what I posted at 00.15hrs this morning:

I've just heard back from Carol from Hoorayfortoys.co.uk.

The reappearance of all the go go items on their website earlier, which were all shown as out of stock anyway, was done by their web guy who was undertaking maintenance on the site. It is NOT an indication that these items are going to be listed as in stock in the near future, and further stock is NOT expected till after Christmas.

HOWEVER, they do have a few, and I mean a FEW, hamsters which they are probably going to list on the website at the weekend.

Hooray tend to list in the evenings so if you need a hammie, then that's probably the best time to check. Please note, they are very strict on restricting numbers of go go items that people can order, as they want as many parents as possible to have the opportunity to purchase the hamsters they need. Last time, it was 2 per customer / card / address / order etc. Any attempt to exceed this resulted in the WHOLE order being cancelled. Also trying to get around this by doing multiple orders, also does not work as they have a very good system that checks all details and that can pick up people trying to make more than one order.

I expect that the hamsters will sell out in a few minutes, so the best thing to do, if you haven't already done so, is go onto their site, and register your details, then if you are lucky enough to be able to get a hammy in your basket, then you can log in (if you haven't done so already) and your address details etc will already be there which will save time typing them in, and you'll only need to complete your card details and tick whatever boxes need ticking.

No doubt people who don't read back will start asking about Hooray if it is discussed on the later forum pages so I would suggest rather than people trying to regurgitate the info to each one, just advise them to look back at the post by me at 22.49hrs today if they want to know what’s what

Get to your local toys r us tomorrow. They all have stock coming in first come etc. Would have to get there for about 07.30-08.00 though i would guess.

As it's getting nearer to christmas I would get there even earlier and take a flask of something hot, some news paper to stand on, wear a hat and take a brolly.

Even if it's not raining take the brolly because you can use it to whack everyone out of the way when they open the doors for the stampede! :rotfl:
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.
• Just got back from Southampton, Toys R Useless there are getting hamsters and baskets tommorrow if anyone is interested. I will NEVER shop with that 2nd Rate chain again. While i was out received a response to my latest email to them, they had used the same template as the first email, and answered non of my questions. So i responded again with this

Dear Toys R Us

Thank you for once again sending me the same email response that I have received three times previous stating We at Toys R Us Direct do take customer service issues very seriously indeed and in addition to the huge range of products and our low prices, we pride ourselves on maintaining a high level of customer service.” You obviously don’t, or else you would actually take the time to read my correspondence. Also “Please be assured that we are not advised of when still will be made available on our website. For that reason, we are unable to reserve stock for any replacement orders which may be required. “ Unable or unwilling? But hang on a minute are you not the same company? Surely you communicate with each other. It would be very simple:-

Customer service Rep: Hi is that the store man? Next time you have a delivery of Go Go Hamsters, could you put some aside before we post them on the web to fulfil some orders we messed up on, else otherwise well ruin some poor little child’s Christmas.
Store man: sure I’ll put a post it note on the board!

Not that difficult, I’ll even pay the 10p for the phone call

I thought it best to let you know that I am seeking my options in taking action against your company as I believe I have been treated with a lack of respect and caused a great deal of inconvenience. I have already contacted Watchdog and several newspapers with my story, and I am aware of MANY others who have similar gripes against you, over the payment pending Fiasco and also not receiving their orders that were placed on the same day as mine.

I seriously doubt mine and the other peoples orders ever left your warehouse, either you over sold your stock, and you concocted a pathetic excuse to save face, or they were stolen. Either way your quid’s in. As you get to keep the interest accrued by keeping thousands of pounds of people’s money in your account for the several days. Or you get to claim back on the insurance the value of the goods plus the compensation that you will no doubt insist upon, which surprise surprise you will not pass on to the only people who will lose out in all of this, your customers, and more importantly their children.

The next email I receive from you will no doubt say exactly the same as the rest. If this is to be the case don’t bother letting me waste my time reading it. What I want is a Regional Manager, Or somebody higher up to contact me with a sincerely written email. With a very good reason why this has happened. A senior manager or above only may phone me if you wish.

So far the cost of my inconvenience:

Waiting for an order that I believe was never going to arrive – 13 hours @ £15 p/h = £195
Cost to replace the order without all of the hassle I have already gone through - £130-£150
Time spent reading your emails and responding – 2 hours @ £15 p/h - £30

So Far I believe you owe me £375, all because you are unwilling to try and find a solution for this problem, a solution which can be easily rectified with a phone call, to your warehouse store man or one of your stores, which I know have stock of Go Go Hamsters again for sale in the morning, as I checked with several stores today.

Simon Ackerley

No doubt it'll do no good,

I urge any one who has had issues with tru over this to also contact watchdog. If enough people contact them they will look into it. Which may give tru the kick up the backside, and let them know they cannot treat customers this badly.

Just a tip to help you lot get some hammies. Look on google for Roboform which is a piece of software that you can save all your personal details and card details on so that when you are filling in an order you just touch one button and it fills in the form in an instant. It has been recommended on MSE many times before and is safe. Have a look

same here- i have read previously on the board that once the money is taken out, it usually arrives a couple of days later. my money was taken out yesterday and i had the email this morning so i'm hoping our sets might be with us on monday! :j

I have had no automatic email or update on my status. But the payment went through my account on the 1st and the reply to my email query said its on its way to agency. My order still says in preparation. I recall some others got their set delivered the same day or day or so after they had the email and update to status so hopefully they should be here very soon.
• On a brighter note, now i've effectively given up on the hamsters. On display in John Lewis was a Interactive dog called Biscuit, which my mum fell in love with and was trying to buy it for herself! Its in argos for £175, but JL had it for £99, now all i've got to do is convince my son to have a dog instead of hamsters.
• Here is a photo of the contents and back of spanish set box (from ebay). I have ordered one from elcortes, so should see it for real soon :D Looks identical to uk/us to me.

I think it's because it's his mum who is buying it, so she will want it to fit properly into the box and look all nice and rectangular when it's wrapped. If it was me I would just wrap it any old how, or even leave it set up as if santa had had a play :D

I got pips from the co-op for my sister last week when buying my chunk, and she is really pretty! I know people like patches the rare hammy but I think pips is prettier (if I am allowed to say that without sounding mean to patches!).

We have chunk and mr squiggles and I love them both. I laugh every time mr s moos at me :o:rotfl:
