Yes they are salaried, employed directly by avon - and she shouldn't give out territory without actually allocating it to a rep (which would show if it already belonged to someone else), especially as the system has now changed. It used to be only asms could allocte territory - but now us SL can as well, but only to brand new sign ups, and it just automatically gives us x streets for them according to their postcode & whats free. So how that asm is going about things isn't fair - as if it doesn't get allocated to someone straight away, a SL could sign someone up, and that territory be officially allocated to someone, which would obviously lead to problems for both reps and isn't fair on either of them. I'd definately put an official complaint in.

Thanks - yet again (hope I'm not boring you with my thanks ) - lozza. Have, hopefully, registered an official complaint via the Contact Us on the website (got to say it would be good to be able to preview your email before you send it - maybe my next complaint will be against Avon's contact us system! :rotfl:) Don't hold out much hope of anything happening because of it but got to say I'm reeeeeallly T'd off that some 8/9 hours after reporting I had a problem I've not even had an acknowledgment (let alone a solution) from either my ASM or SL! Know my SL earns commissions from my orders...... makes me really angry that I get zilch support from either of them. Thank goodness for this thread!

BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON HERE, WHO'S HELPED ME! :T:T:T

Lol asms rarely reply in anything less than 48hours in my experience and my own asm regulary ignores me. As for your sl - bare in mind that it might be a bad day for them - last year my oh uncle got rushed to hospital (he had lung cancer) and died. Needless to say I didn't turn my mobile on for the next few days - in most cases things can be sorted by a rep directly with Avon of necessary. Thankfully none of my reps had tried to contact me - but I didn't want to tell them my situation as it was private and in my opinion whatever problem they might have had could wait. Not saying anything major has happens to your sl, or to always assume somthing bad has happened, but only waiting 8 hours isn't that bad. If a few weeks later you haven't heard anything then of course that's a different matter entirely!

  • Yes, see your point - in the scheme of things 8 hours is not long and we all have 'real life' to deal with as well as coping with Avon. Having said that, I seem to recall that I tried to make contact with my ASM a couple of months ago (and still waiting for a reply from that one) and the last contact I had with my SL was when I was her highest orderer in her campaign (obviously, she earned a bit of unexpected dosh as it was only my 3rd campaign I think).

Am I alone in thinking I was 'recruited' and then abandoned?

Having said that, I am deffo pro-active rather than re-active and like things to get sorted pdq. Am not, however, normally a stressed person so was quite surprised to see how stressed I got when customer after customer contacted me about this new rep dropping a book in with a note saying that I'd stopped doing Avon and she was their new rep. We have the same ASM and her carelessness/incompetence definitely caused me, and others, some probs today.

(On the other hand, it's good to know that I'm cherished by some - one of my customers gave the 'newbie' short shrift! ;) Another lady, however, is not well and it made her think I'd 'abandoned' her.)

All in all - not good for a salaried 'professional' to cause such problems to others (particularly when we're battling against the extreme weather conditions).

Not necessarily - yes I email my reps every campaign to give them ideas to increase sales/get more customers (yes you could argue that is for my benefit so I earn more - but then I happily help "strangers" on here so it is just my nature lol), sent them all a Christmas card....never did I get an email/text to wish me a happy Christmas or ever get a email back saying thanks for the idea etc. I know they don't have to, but would be nice once in a while - most of the time I get the impression they would rather me !!!!!! off and leave them to it. Which I guess is what a lot of SL do, for that very reason. We each have our own methods, and none is going to make every rep happy! Though they should reply to problems within a few days at the least.

ASMS wind me up - especially when they aren't working due to sickness, but haven't told avon so that someone else can cover the area while they are off, they have that option so they should use it! Us SL - if we are off ill / on holiday etc, unless we have a SL above us (which I don't) then all our reps & sl only port of call is either avon or asms - which is neither use nor ornament!!!

    Hi ladies,

Can anyone help with a query please? A good friend has asked me to order her some 'Seamless' make up foundation in ivory. Swears blind she ordered it from me before. I can't find it in any of the brochures, so does anyone know what this is or the equivalent new product.

    Thanks guys.

  • I have some shockingly awful seamless foundation by Max Factor, can't remember seeing 'seamless' from Avon though (don't quote me on that though), have you checked the 'bye buys' section on the website for discontinued products?
  • Just wondered if anyone can help,
Im trying to register online as self employed and am unsure as to whether I am a sole trader or a partner in a partnership??
    Thanks

    Hi Nicola

My hubby received one as well. It is quite nice!! The one he received consists of 1 ceramic holder with 1 bag of coloured sand, 1 bag of wax beads, 4 floating candles, 37 incense sticks, 12 incense cones and 6 wicks and it is lavender scented.
He was more impressed with it than with the gold handbag he received when it was his birthday I should say. LOL
Nice touch of AVON to reward us though.

    xxx

Ooo - I hope it is this, it sounds really nice!

Avon reps are sole traders. You effectively buy from Avon (the wholesaler) and sell to your customer for a profit.

Did wonder when I posted whether I'd phrased it correctly. Sorry, the 'empty box' was actually a product box i.e. an eyeliner.

Ohhhhhh!!! I thought you meant you'd received a big avon box with nothing in it. Doh!
