I'd just alter your own records re the tax - you only have to pay tax on your actual earnings afterall, they don't go entirely from your avon invoices. If your turnover is less than £30k (which I'm imagining it will be) - then all you need to declare in any case is total incomings (ie all the money you get from your customers), and total costs (cost of the products, along with samples, books etc etc), you don't need to break it down any further than this.

talking of tax...this is my first time being self employed (or employed at all while not in education) so will be my first time dealing with tax....i declared myself as 'self employed' as soon as i started. what happens now? do they send you forms to fill out to update it or do you need to contact them etc

also how do you work out costs ie paper/ink? use the cost of a ream and divide it by the amount of sheets? or just put the whole bundle?

They will send you some stuff out in the post in time - though with it being a while till you tax return don't expect anything just yet. I got sent everything automatically.

I just put the whole price of things I buy for avon - hard for them to prove if you accidentally printed the odd thing that wasn't for avon afterall ;)

Do you mean the list of items that have been discontinued?

I can't find it on my sl website, but going through my partners regular Rep website - go to Training, the under downloads, click on "bye buys"and that gives a list of things discontinued for quite a few campaigns back.

I have just looked at my online invoice for camp 2 which is being delivered to me on Weds. And these two things are listed in the not being charged for section...

    1 Service Anniversary Gift FREE
    1 Mood Creation Centrepiece

Does anyone know what they are and whether they are worth getting excited about?!

    Thanks,
    Nicola

    Hi Nicola

My hubby received one as well. It is quite nice!! The one he received consists of 1 ceramic holder with 1 bag of coloured sand, 1 bag of wax beads, 4 floating candles, 37 incense sticks, 12 incense cones and 6 wicks and it is lavender scented.
He was more impressed with it than with the gold handbag he received when it was his birthday I should say. LOL
Nice touch of AVON to reward us though.

Lol my oh got sent one of those gold bags too.....we emailed them saying how they have a number of male reps/sales leaders, avon sells unisex products as well as dedicated mens products - so might be an idea to bare in mind for the future, as being MR it would very unlikely for him to make use of it, as well as it potentially offending someone..

we had 2 replies - the first "your query is being sent to a different department as they need more information" - whats difficult, hes a man and its a ladies bag!

the next one - we're sorry but we won't exchange!

We never even mentioned exchanging it - we even said thank you lol. Idiots sometimes at avon!:p
